Hi folks,
I can't seem to find a concrete answer to this, so here I am asking much more knowledgeable people. I assume this is the right place...
I want to run a very basic system of RGB LED strips (x3) which can be triggered via an audio track in Ableton Live. I understand I'm going to require some specific in-the-box lighting software, but where I am struggling is with identifying the hardware required to take some sort of data signal out of my Macbook via USB and transfer/translate/magic this into colour/on-off messages.
Behaviour of each strip will be uniform, so I don't specifically need something which allows me to run separate lighting conditions per strip.
Ideally, I would be able to plug the same system into a USB charger > outlet for static LED lighting when not controlling via software.
Cheap and cheerful is fine, as are more refined solutions.
Oh, current LEDs are a 4-pin RGB strip, 5-12v. This isn't crucial though - I'll replace the strip lighting if there is an appropriate solution requiring different LEDs.
Thanks in advance!
