Playing Ys VIII and I just came across her

I already love her so much, she's so cute and has very gaki energy >w<

I remember about 10yrs ago no one really cared if you liked kani. People that liked it were normal about it and the people that didn't were also normal about it. The people that didn't like it for the most part just ignored it and that's fair, isn't for everyone. But they didn't make a big fuss about it.

Nowadays, some people are really weird about it with n*zi h*tler rhetorics and the antis who in delusion equate it to irl stuff and like to feel superior coz they protected some pixels on a screen. In many anime circles I feel like you can't even claim a JK as your waifu coz "erm akshually she's this age" when before you just get shit on for having bad taste, no one cared about fictional age.

I feel like it's at least partly to blame on anime going mainstream. This wasn't as big of an issue when watching anime was weird and you'd get made fun of for it. It acted as sort of a gatekeep to keep away all the normies but now everyone and their mother is watching demon slayer or mha or w/e is popular. Majority probably have never even heard of what SoL or CGDCT is. I think we gotta go back to anime being weird to watch. But it's probably impossible at this point.

Sorry I know this is kinda negative and I understand if it gets taken down, but it's hard to come by spaces where you can even talk about this sorta stuff anymore.
