I’m trying to make a point: I pass and I don’t even fulfill the social media beauty standard

So I read a lot of mean comments about how trans women are clocky just because they don’t fit into the „social media beauty standards“.

I see comments like: your nose is big, so it’s clocky and manly.

Like wtf? What is a male and female nose? Have y’all even seen women with big noses? They are everywhere. Are you telling them they are clocky?

Please be kind and honest to each other. And don’t project your insecurities and beauty standards to others.

Cis women can have: a big nose, broad shoulders, no existent waists and hips, even an Adam’s apple. And they are seen as cis women. Just regular women. Like your neighbor, the cashier at your grocery store, the barista at Starbucks, your mom.

I understand that we as trans people are seeing those features a lot more than cis folks and that we often want to pass on higher standard. But in reality it isn’t even like this.

Of course if you want to look like Barbie, then go for it. You do you if you’re comfortable with it. But don’t tell people they are clocky or are not passing when it’s really not the case!

Personally I’m not wearing make up and I don’t do much with my face. But I pass. I have a bit of brow bone, and for an Asian a slightly bigger body (but so does my cis sister). And yes, some of you may probably say what’s clocky on me but I don’t care. Because I pass on a regular basis and that’s all I want. I’m not too fancy, I’m not too careless with my look, don’t get me wrong. But I just reached the goal of just being a woman.

And mannerisms and mimic and gestures are playing a big role also. And since most people here are posting only fotos, we don’t really hear them and see their body language. So we can only judge on the pictures we see.

This is just my opinion. Passing is NOT looking like Kim Kardashian or kpop stars with their multiple plastic surgeries.
