Being alone is addictive
The more you get used to it, the less you miss anyone.
Eventually, solitude just feels the new normal.

Hey everyone,
I’m 18 years old and I really love the idea of traveling solo. I’ve never actually traveled alone before, though.
My friends are willing to come with me, but honestly, I don’t really have the interest or patience to convince everyone to agree on a destination, dates, budget, etc. I feel like if I keep waiting for my friends, I might never actually go anywhere.
The main problem is my parents. Since I’ve never traveled solo before, I know they’re going to be worried about my safety and probably won’t be comfortable giving me permission.
For those of you who started traveling solo when you were young:
How did you convince your parents to let you go?
What helped them trust you?
Did you start with a short trip before doing longer ones?
Have any of you faced the same situation with your parents?
I’m not trying to do anything reckless. I just really want to experience traveling on my own, become more independent, and learn how to handle things myself.
Would love to hear your experiences and advice!
