I've got a question for the hive mind: I've got (naturally occurring and difficult to treat) high blood pressure and ADHD. My ADHD meds worsen the blood pressure, and for the past two years my neurologist (my "ADHD doc") and me have been trying to get that under control. We're at a point where *without* the ADHD meds my blood pressure is regulated, but we can't get the ADHD meds spike under control. We tried our way through four different blood pressure meds along the way.
Naturally, he sent me to a cardiologist. I went to two different ones, and both clammed up at the mention of ADHD meds, refusing to engage with finding a solution that isn't "just stop, then. I don't see the issue." Which is obviously not a solution, as anyone with severe ADHD can attest to. The second one didn't even care about the letter of "yes, he does need them" my neurologist gave me to show him.
My question: Does anybody know of a cardiologist here in Berlin who can handle ADHD meds crossovers, for lack of better phrasing? Or more difficult to medicate blood pressure cases in general? Or just....a cardiologist you're really really happy with?
