Hey everyone, wanted to get some opinions from people who actually know these trucks.

A coworker is giving me his 2011 Ford Ranger XL Regular Cab for free, as they got a new car. The catch is that it needs repairs before it's drivable, estimated at around $4,000. I'd have to get an independent inspection at around $250 get the actual cost. The intended use casual, short daily commuting and occasional road trips.

Year: 2011 Ford Ranger

Trim: XL | Regular Cab, 2-Door, RWD

Mileage: 189,000 miles

I also did a VIN check, and the title came up clean for everything. Do y'all think it's worth the $3500 investment at such mileage, or am I better off looking for a different car?

Note, I'm a college student with limited funds.
