AMD Adrenalin is downgrading itself alongside GPU drivers.
I am a novice with regards to PC building and care.
I recently wiped my AMD graphics drivers via DDU because of a "RadeonSoftware.exe - Bad Image" notification. I installed drivers for my chipset and discrete GPU (i.e. RX 7900 XTX). All downloads were the latest drivers from the official AMD site. They were not the "auto-detect" download options. I did not download a driver for the iGPU of my CPU (i.e. Ryzen 9 7900X).
All seemed well, as the installations proceeded smoothly. Today, I right-clicked my desktop screen and selected to start AMD Adrenalin. I was met with a notification stating AMD Adrenalin needed to update to run on my PC. I accepted, thinking a newer version of AMD Adrenalin may have come out.
Upon startup, I found Adrenalin and my graphics drivers were outdated. Adrenalin was running version 23.40.02. I installed Adrenalin version 26.5.2 from the drivers page of my dedicated GPU.
Is there a reason this downgrade occurred automatically? I suspect it was because I did not have an "AMD Radeon Graphics" driver for my iGPU, because Adrenalin suggested I download that during setup. I feel like I am missing something. If I am outright misunderstanding anything, please let me know too.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! I'm doing my best to learn the ropes.
