Has this latest driver update helped with timeouts?

Can anybody confirm? Was having issues with my 9070XT going black mid-game and haven’t been able to fix it since June.

Somebody please help me

I have an RX 9070XT and it just keeps crashing. I feel like I've tried everything and have scoured the internet for every workaround and suggestion possible.

- I've run DDU 100 times and then reinstalled the drivers.
- I've rolled back drivers to supposedly more "stable" versions.
- I've done a BIOS update.
- I have a 1000W Power Supply and the cables are properly seated.
- I've attempted a ton of different Adrenalin settings to alleviate the issues.
- I've run reliability report issues through claude and other AI programs for suggestions.

Nothing works. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a card and it's my 2nd one. I bought one a while ago, had the same issues and returned it. Decided I'd try again a few weeks later thinking maybe it was a dud but here I am with the same issues. This thing is basically an $800 paper weight at this point. I can't go a single day without a crash and they never self correct. The only way to fix them is to hard reset the system.

Does the 7900xt just suck?

I have had my pc for about 2 yrs now. I strictly use it to play games I have a 7900xt hellhound. For the past month or two around 11pm at night it will completely crash my pc only to reboot in 240p. I try to redownload the latest updates but AMD software installer just tells me oops something went wrong. This is driving me absolutely insane to hate solving tech issues and don’t understand why it doesn’t just work. Everything in my pc is brand new I’ve never downloaded anything but games off steam. Please help if anyone knows a permanent fix for this shit. Thank you

Massive Stuttering/FPS Drops (35 AVG, 65 1% Lows) whenever Discord is open in the background (Ryzen 7800X3D + RTX 4080 Super)

Hey everyone,

I’m dealing with a frustrating, system-wide performance issue that is severely affecting my gameplay, and I desperately need some help.

The Problem:

Whenever Discord is running in the background, I experience massive FPS drops and micro-stutters across multiple games.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, my benchmark shows a loss of 35 FPS in AVG and a devastating drop of 65 FPS in my 1% Lows.

I also noticeably feel these heavy stutters in lighter games like Rocket League.

The moment I completely close Discord via Task Manager, everything instantly returns to normal (e.g., Black Ops 7 runs perfectly at 268 AVG FPS with stable ~245 1% Lows). I never had this issue before.

My Hardware:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super

RAM: 32GB DDR5

OS: Windows 11 (latest update)

What I have already tried (and did NOT work):

Discord Tweaks: Turned off Hardware Acceleration, disabled the In-Game Overlay entirely, and turned off H.264 Hardware Acceleration.

Discord Voice Settings: Changed the Audio Subsystem to "Legacy" and disabled Advanced Voice Activity.

Discord Logging: Turned off Debug Logging.

Windows Audio: Unchecked "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" for both my headset and mic.

System Settings: Game Mode is ON, HAGS is ON, and power plan is set to High Performance. Shaders have been completely re-cached.

Since it happens across totally different game engines (COD IW Engine vs. Rocket League's Unreal Engine), it feels like Discord is creating a deep scheduling or audio thread conflict with my 7800X3D when minimized.

Has anyone with a similar AM5 / Ryzen X3D setup encountered this global Discord background resource leak or conflict? Are there any hidden registry fixes, chipset driver issues, or specific audio driver workarounds for this?

Thanks a lot for any advice!

9060xt 16gb poor performance

Hi, I have a problem with my new GPU, the RX 9060 XT. I previously had an RX 6600, which worked fine, but based on online reviews, I was expecting at least a 30% to 50% performance improvement. However, while playing Spider-Man Remastered, for example, it barely reaches around 100 fps and doesn't go higher, whereas benchmarks show it getting 210–250 fps with all settings maxed out. I'd like to know what else might be going on. I uninstalled all drivers, updated everything, and right now I am factory resetting my computer to see if that fixes it.

My PC Specs:

Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO

Graphics Card: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB

Cpu: Rx 5600

Display: 100 Hz display

Which driver is the most stable for 9070xt?

So here I am with my 9070xt on 26.6.4. I've experienced a couple of crashes and uninstalling msi center helped a bit. Then just to be safe i set -100mhz offset and -5% power limit. It was great and stable for a few days, then I got a crash. And then another one. So I got pissed off, absolutely nuked everything containing "AMD" in name with DDU, reinstalled cpu chipset drivers and reinstalled 26.6.4 driver. Today I'm gonna test it if it's finally stable. If not I will ddu and revert to an older version hoping it's maybe just the newer versions that are problematic. Here comes my question - which driver is the most stable? I've heard about 26.3.1, is it really the most stable one?

The fixes I've already tried:

- tdrdelay 10

- disable mpo

- disable igpu

- disable windows driver updates

And many more

Suttering in games, I cant figure out why. Please help :(

My PC is new and at first it was great. 3 days in I had two crashes where two of my screens, one went green and other froze/black. Thankfully it hasnt happened since I uninstalled adrenaline, reinstalled drivers without it and updated my BIOS to the latest non-beta version.

I started noticing stutters in games today. I dont know if they were happening before as well, as its more noticeable in this new game I started playing, Neverness to Everness.

I’m using steams FPS overlay to monitor FPS and I see lots of sharp dips in red on the graph. And most of these dips are noticeable in game to my eyes as well. BF6, same issue AND a weird freeze only in BF6 where when I die and I go into the respawn menu, it freezes for 1-2 secs. During this time CPU and GPU clock drops as well. But this sort of freeze only happens in that specific situation only. And in NTE, lowering graphics almost felt like it made stuttering worse.

My system:
- CPU: 9600x
- GPU: 9070 xt
- MOBO: ASUS B650e Max Gaming W
- PSU: MSI A850G ATX 3.1 PCIE5
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb 6000mhz
- Latest AMD drivers without adrenaline
- Latest non-beta BIOS released fairly recently

Things I’ve tried:
- Disabled iGPU — no change
- Forced GPU PCIe link from Auto to Gen 4 — no fix
- Disabled Global C-States — no change
- Tested PBO enabled — seemed slightly better in NTE, but BF6 was the same/worse
- Disabled HAGS — no change
- Disabled Game Mode — no change
- Disabled Dynamic Refresh Rate — no change
- Disabled MPO — no change
- Disabled USB Selective Suspend
- Disabled USB device/controller power-saving
- Tried different mouse, keyboard, and USB ports — no change
- Verified SSD firmware is latest
- SSD health/quick scan — no errors
- Verified game files/reinstalled
- Tested different graphics settings in NTE — lower settings actually seemed worse
- EXPO off — no change

This is actually driving me crazy. I just wanna enjoy my new system. :( please help <3

RX 9070 XT crashes in games with Ray Tracing enabled – tried multiple fixes, still happening

Hi everyone,

I'm having a stability issue with my AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (PowerColor Hellhound 16GB) and I'm trying to figure out if the card itself might be defective.

The problem is that games eventually crash when Ray Tracing is enabled. Without RT, the system seems significantly more stable, but with RT enabled I can reproduce crashes after some time.

So far I've already tried:

  • Different games
  • VRAM/stability testing
  • OCCT GPU tests
  • Two independent PCIe power cables
  • Switching the physical BIOS/performance switch on the GPU
  • Windows Maximum Performance power plan
  • GPU clock/voltage adjustments
  • Disabling MPO
  • Updating AMD Adrenalin drivers
  • Running the card at stock settings

OCCT also reported errors during the GPU test.

My GPU temperatures don't seem particularly high, so I'm not seeing an obvious thermal issue.

Specs:

  • RX 9070 XT PowerColor Hellhound 16GB
  • Intel i5-14600K
  • MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850W PSU
  • Windows 11 25H2
  • AMD Adrenalin 26.3.1 (I also have a newer driver available)

At this point I'm considering returning the GPU, but before doing that I'd really like to know if anyone with an RX 9070 XT has experienced similar crashes specifically with Ray Tracing.

Could this be a driver/RT issue, or does this sound like a defective GPU?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Explorer.exe crashing after updating Chipset Drivers

Recently I decided to update chipset drivers for my machine after last updating it in mid 2025, the normal AMD installers would fail when trying to install chipset drivers so I downloaded the official separate chipset installer.
After doing the installation and rebooting, explorer.exe has been consistently crashing when I use folders with media in them, such as audio files or video, I can manually trigger it by either hovering with the mouse over the files or moving through the folder using the keyboard.
Normally I would just ignore it but I use this computer for work, I edit audio and video specifically in it so having my work folders crash randomly multiple times every day is considerably infuriating.
Explorer.exe does progressively freeze in each separate folder with media open as I use it, so it doesn't close or restart itself, it just hogs cpu resources indefinitely and makes the computer 10% or 20% slower PER FROZEN FOLDER, to the point where it makes UI responsiveness in other applications a slide show eventually despite the fact Task Manager reports only 6% usage of the CPU in the explorer.exe process. System Explorer confirms the percentages so I know Task Manager isn't lying in what it displays.
I have tried downgrading the chipset drivers but that has not solved the problem.
SFC Scannow with administrator level permissions still does nothing.
I have updates disabled at the group policy level so it is not windows swapping anything.

My specs are:
Windows 10 64bit
Gigabyte Aorus B450m
Ryzen 3700X
RX 9070XT (GPU driver version is 25.3.2 because it is the LAST ONE that works with the Adobe software that I use for work)
64GB of RAM

AMD 7900XT Driver Timeouts

Has there been any resolution to the ongoing driver crashes and timeouts with 7000 series cards with the last update?

I reverted to 26.3.x which seemed to resolve my issues with non-load crashing until adrenaline auto-updated my drivers to 26.7.x

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X

RAM: 2x8gb 3200MHz cl16 Corsair Vengeance

GPU: RX9060XT 16GB

PSU: Deepcool 650W plus gold

Placa: MSI B450 A PRO

Strange glitches on the screen of a new PC.

I bought a new computer, and on the second day of use, strange glitches started appearing on the screen. I tested it on another monitor, and the result was the same. I don't know what it could have been.

These glitches disappear as soon as I restart the PC, but it's frustrating, especially since the PC is new. Does anyone else with the same problem have any tips on how to solve it?

PC configuration:

Processor: Ryzen 5600gt

GPU: Vega 7

Memory: 8x2 2666mhz

(I'm using a translator to make this post, sorry if there are any spelling errors.

5800X3D - getting WHEA-Logger Event ID 18 errors

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RX 7800 XT

CPU: RYZEN 7 5800X3D 8 CORE 16 THREADS

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550A Gaming

BIOS Version: 3631

RAM: Kingston/HyperX Fury Beast 32GB (2x16) 3200 Mhz

PSU: MSI A850G 850W

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 Home 26200

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1

Chipset Drivers: 8.08.12.551

Description of Original Problem: I recently started getting occasional WHEA-Logger Event ID 18 errors.

Dates when they occurred:

  • July 3, 2026
  • August 5, 2026
  • August 16, 2026
  • August 18, 2026

They occurred only once on each of those days, while I was away from the computer. According to my settings, the monitor turns off after a period of inactivity, so the PC was most likely in an idle/low-power state when the errors occurred. But I need to add, that I am ways from my PC multiple times a day (5-10) and it occurs so rarely even though my monitor turns off many times.

The error is reported as:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 0 / 3 / 7 (depending on the occurrence) - it is never the same APIC ID so far

The first three occurrences were on July 3, August 5, and August 16. The fourth one occurred on August 18, only two days after the previous error and AFTER I updated my BIOS to 3631.

Troubleshooting: I updated the BIOS to version 3636 on August 16, 2026. Before that, I was using BIOS version 3631. It did not help as the error occured yesterday.

I also updated the AMD chipset drivers on August 15, 2026 to version 8.08.12.551.

After the latest WHEA error, I checked my BIOS settings. PBO was set to Auto and Curve Optimizer was also set to Auto. I have now changed the settings so that PBO uses a manual scaler of 1x, and Curve Optimizer is set to Manual / All Cores / Positive / 0. I wonder if it may help to solve the issue.

My main concern is whether these WHEA errors indicate a developing hardware problem with the CPU, motherboard, RAM, or another component, or whether they could be caused by power-management/BIOS/driver issues.

The errors are still relatively rare, but the fact that the last two occurred only two days apart concerns me.

What would you recommend as the next steps to determine the cause?

9070 xt crashes

Are people here that had no issues with crashes and driver etc after switching from Nvidia to AMD ?

I ordered a hellhound 9070 xt to upgrade from my 4060ti 16 GB. (Current system is 5800x and 32 gb DDR4 RAM)

With seeing all the posts about crashes im a little worried and might regret my decision to go for the 9070 xt. I never do did any overxlocking or 3rd party Software Bs like others.

Is the Ryzen 7 5700U with 32gb ram better suited for Windows 10 or 11 in terms or just having a snappier OS experience? I won't be gaming hard, just light stuff.
