Timeout problem fixed!
Hi! I'm here to talk about the timeout problems and how I managed to get rid of them. First of all, this summer I decided to upgrade my PC, I went from a 5800X with an RTX 3060 to a 7800X3D with an RX9070XT. I was super excited because it was the first time I got an AMD graphics card and I’d heard a lot of good things about it. But unfortunately, I ran into the annoying timeout bug on all the latest drivers, even the Radeon Pro ones. I tried everything to get rid of it—using regedit, with and without the Lian Li extension cable, with no background processes, disabling EXPO on my RAM—basically everything I could find on forums that might help fix the issue, but nothing worked. I was really disappointed; I even considered returning my graphics card and going back to NVIDIA. In some games, it worked perfectly, but in games like Fortnite, CS2, Warzone, and others, I would crash and my PC would restart.
Then one day I came across a message on a Reddit thread that said that a year before this bug didn't exist, so I thought, 'Well, why not try the older drivers!' So I decided to go from version 26.8.1 to 25.8.1, first removing the old ones with DDU and then installing them in 'driver only' mode. Then finally, when playing Fortnite and other games, I realized that my timeout problem was finally fixed, and I even gained performance! So here are the steps for those who can't be bothered to read my whole story^^ :
Uninstall your drivers with DDU
Install the AMD Adrenalin 25.8.1 driver
Restart your PC
Enjoy finally without the timeout!
Note: you won't lose any features like FS4 or even frame generation.
Hope this thread helps you like it helped me!
