Moving: South Slope vs Kensington living? Decisions, decisions!
Hello dear folk of South Slope / Windsor Terrace / Kensington!
I've been living in South Slope for a few years, am soon moving, and have the opportunity to stay in the area in a great apartment: close to the F/G, close to the Prospect Park Southwest entrance / Nitehawk, with 2 other mature roommates (30's & 40's), all lovely. Small living room, much character. Large bedroom.
At the same time, I've been offered to live in a large 2 bedroom in Kensington. Also close to trains, and still to the park. The bedroom is huge, and there's tons of storage, and I'd be sharing with just one other mature professional. It's enticing to me, so much so that I find myself considering it over a neighborhood I already know and love. It's also about $100 cheaper, though not the biggest deal-breaker.
I enjoy shared living, love being in the park, but am also quite the homebody.
I haven’t spent a ton of time in Kensington, so I’m curious: How do you Kensingtonians enjoy the neighborhood? What is special about it to you? Has anyone here moved to a nearby-but-different neighborhood for a better apartment setup and ended up missing their old neighborhood? Or did the extra space / calmer living situation end up being worth it?
P.S. I also adore Windsor Terrace, haven't had too much luck finding an apartment there, ya'll don't leave, it's too quaint <3
