Rant:Moving up to CSM
Just a rant.
I've been a team member for five months, and after our store manger got fired and our CSM quit, our DM has been trying to hire a CSM and new store manager as soon as possible.
Today, we (a different store manager and I) went through the paperwork and had a CSM "interview". It's now confirmed that I will be the new CSM. I am extremely nervous but excited. I don't know how to do things like orders and books, but I am a quick learner and they know I am a hard worker. I see a lot of potential in our store and I want to help improve it for our customers and my coworkers.
My main concern: the comments my coworkers will make about this promotion. After our CSSL was promoted many people were upset and they resulted to calling them slurs behind their back. And almost immediately I had one coworker say something about my promotion.. "why the f*ck are we promoting someone who barely knows kitchen?". I'm really good at prep (OAC, dough, etc.) but I'm just now learning how to make warmer foods and pizzas AND no where in our required skills for the postion say anything about kitchen.
For a little more information, the only other people that qualify for this job at my store DON'T want it. They said the pay is not equal to the effort you are required to put in. And the people that do want it don't put in the effort to show upper management that they are 'fit for the role'.
TLDR, I am getting promoted and am extremely nervous.
