What are the best ways to keep hair healthy between dyes?

I recently started dyeing my hair again after a 10 year break from it, my hair seemed to handle it extremely well in my teens but not so much now. I’m a natural dark blonde and I’m now dying it a deep auburn/red shade. I’m using inebrya ice cream professional hair dye with 10 volume developer.

I just dyed it for the second time today to refresh the colour as it had faded from a deep red to a ginger colour within four weeks. The first time I dyed it I only shed a few hairs, which I expected because after all I am chemically treating it, but this time I probably lost at least 20-30 full strands, if not more. I have fairly thin, fine hair with a slight wave so I really can’t afford to be losing hair like this consistently, & I can’t go more than 24 hrs without washing it or it looks like I dunked my head in a bucket of grease.

I went out today after colouring it and picked up John Freida Radiant Red shampoo & conditioner so I can try to stretch the colour a little longer than four weeks, along with a repairing hair mask that I plan to use at least once per week & argan oil styling cream to use daily. I already use leave in conditioner & heat protectant so I’ll keep using those as well. Does anyone have any other tips or specific product recommendations that may help me? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance for any help
