Suggestions for tons of outgrowth

Suggestions for tons of outgrowth

hey all. so for a little over a year my bank account has been in and out of the negatives so taking care of my hair was pretty low on my list of priorities. im looking to finally fix up this mess. i have been debating on going over it with a semi permanent dye that matches my natural color. ill probably rock that for a few months and then probably try going over it with a dark green. i have no idea if this will work tho so any advice it appreciated!!

What colours should I dye my hair?

Hello everyone. I am a brunette and I am planning to get my hair bleached for the second time after a few years. I am mainly looking to dye my hair teal (like picture 1), but I would also like to try orange (picture 2) and purple (picture 4). Does anyone know what color should I dye my hair first after bleaching? I heard that cold tones don’t stay on the hair too long like warm tones do, so technically I should first dye my hair teal? And then maybe orange and then purple?? Or do you guys have any other tips or opinions? I just don’t want the colors to mix and look bad.
(Not my pictures! All from Pinterest)

Please Help! I did highlights for the first time and I am struggling making them blend in.

Any advice is appreciated! The first photo is of the highlights... and the second is the inspo pic. Can I do a shadow root, or some kind of toner to help the highlights blend into the roots?

(please be nice, I'm still a newbie. thank you so so much in advance. i'm panicking)

Hair Dye Reaction Question

I have been dying my hair for years. Seems my scalp can no longer tolerate Black Permanent Hair Dye… I was wondering if anyone else has an allergy to black permanent hair dye, and what they use as a substitute for it… fashion colors seem to be okay tho..

Neutralizing the red?

Hi! This is my current color I’m looking to make it more brown/ash brown and less red. I don’t want to go too dark. Any suggestions?

How can I fix the hot roots and get the hair inspo I want

I wanted a dark red/ purple color. I had virgin hair and just used what came in the L’Oréal box and followed instructions but ended up with hot roots and my ends look like my natural color. I’m not sure what to do

Used Colour Oops and am losing the battle with the smell

I decided to let my hair grow out from a dye job I no longer wanted and had a harsh demarcation line. I used Colour Oops to blend it out and I love the colour it turned; it blends so much better with my natural colour. The only problem is the horrid stench. Every time I sweat, swim, or bathe I reek of wet dog and mouldy feet.

I've tried:

Vinegar wash

Baking Soda/Conditioner mask

Head and Shoulders Apple Cider Vinegar flavour

3% Peroxide/Conditioner mask

Peppermint Oil in my Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner

Chelating Shampoo

Dawn Dish Soap

Nothing seems to work and I'm heading into my second week with this. I'm at the point were I almost want to shave my head but I know I can't pull off the Sinéad O'Connor look.

Does anyone have any tricks that worked for them?

Going burgundy?

I have dark brown almost black hair naturally. I boxed dyed it red for a couple years but of course it never got as bright as i want it. I feel like it just made my hair darker but with a red tint in the sun . If i want to dye it brighter burgundy/ cherry at home using a developer and better hair dye do i need to use a color remover first? Last time i boxed dyed was over a year ago

Help with toning hair

Hi all!

How would you go about toning the ends to match the roots as much as possible? Could a blue shampoo do the trick? I do realize there will still be a difference in the levels, but maybe the overall tone could be made a bit more cohesive.

Thank you all in advance!

Need help removing my teen daughters BRIGHT bcolors

The first picture is when she first got it done. Second is with clarifying shampoo and vitamin C we did yesterday. The others are where we’re at today after One n Only vibrant color remover. (And before/during combing after so that’s why it’s so tangled) it’s getting paler but we were hoping to get rid of some more color.
I’m trying to get down to the blond that’s on top. I was hoping the color remover would get us there and we could just tone it.
We did a repairing mask after the Vitamin C yesterday, so far it isn’t gummy or look totally fried and I definitely don’t want that to happen!
What is the best way to get the colors out? Do I need to work around the color wheel to get it all somewhat the same color? I know there isn’t going to be a whole head solution. What could I do to at least get the colors similar? Or any other ideas to get it to fade out more?

EDIT FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS: I know it's just about impossible to get it down to blond. I'm wanting to get it light/faded enough that we can put a toner over it to get to a more natural color.

And this is not ME doing something she doesn't want to her hair. This is her being done with the crazy colors and me not really excited to spend another $250 at the salon after spending that much to get it done in the first place.

UPDATE: The One 'n Only vibrant color remover worked pretty well! It faded the pink and blue, now it's a pastel color and I love it! The yellow-ish top where it had faded already looks pretty good with it too. If nothing else, it's all even now, not a bright spot in the back with really faded parts here and there.

Advice for root melt color fading around the edges?

Hi all, I recently decided to grow out my hair so I got a root melt. For some reason, the dark brown has left a lighter band around the edges. The band was visible when I left my appointment, but has gotten much more noticeable after washing my hair (this is after one wash). Why did this happen? The pink stuck to my hair really well, but the brown didn’t for some reason.

Edit: I wash my hair in water that is slightly colder than lukewarm (that’s the coldest I can do lol).

Toned my bleached hair now I don’t like it

So I’ve been bleaching my hair for a little bit now and before yesterday I had a more yellow brassy look to my hair which I know for many fon’t like that but I really do, however I decided to tone it for once and now heavily regretting I really don’t like how grey it looks.

How do I make my hair go back to a more yellow brassy look like before.

Above are before and after

Hair-dye question

Hi, so about a month ago i dyed my hair using brown hair dye (around 6) but i thought it was too dark. (I have naturally black hair) So I thought about dying it a lighter brown but when I did research it was a little confusing. Do I put color remover first? and then the hair dye? Or can I just dye my hair using a blonde ash hair dye. Idk I lowkey just watched one youtube video and thats what i was going to do but google is telling me to use color remover.

Pls help!

Hi y’all! I hope you’re well. I’m in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. Earlier today I went to my local Sally’s to get some hair dye to hopefully get my hair like the photos above. I was recommended the dark brown iroro hair dye so I grabbed that and colorcharm in cinnamon brown went home and tested it. (I forgot to grab developer so I haven’t tested the colorcharm yet.) I have dirty blonde hair but somehow the dark brown was identical to my hair color??? I was told I should be looking for a warm chestnut, if anyone has brands and colors to recommend I’d greatly appreciate it! (Semi-permanent is preferred but permanent works as well!!)

IM AIMING TOWARDS THE FIRST PHOTO!! My intention was to show the same color in different lighting, sorry for the confusion!

Would a burgundy hair colour look ok on me? I’m nervous 🫪

I’m thinking of dying my hair with a semi permanent burgundy dye, specifically schwarzkopf rich burgundy! Would it look ok? It’d be the darkest hair colour I have ever had. My hair is thin and can be quite fragile so that’s why I opted for a semi permanent conditioning dye!

pls help me fix over toned scalp bleach

I have been getting a scalp bleach for the past two years and have not had a problem. I have had to change hair dressers and had a root retouch yesterday. I am unsure where our communication went wrong but I have come out with incredibly ashy hair when I had asked for my usual bright, white blonde. The first picture is my hair now, after clarifying shampoo twice. The second picture is my hair and my usual blonde that I had shown her. What can I do to get back to that blonde?
