Advice needed for filling my hair and achieving this rich chocolate brown
Okay, so I paid around $300 2 weeks ago to go back to brunette after being blonde since 2018. I miss my dark natural color, and the color she used has faded significantly. Money is very tight and I did communicate with her how disappointed I was that it faded so much after just one wash- in cold water with color care shampoo. She ordered to move up my next appointment but didn’t take blame at all and said it’s because the porosity of my processed hair. She didn’t fill it at all before putting semi dye on my hair and I thought it was strange since I was jumping from a level 9/10 blonde to a level 5/6 but I trusted her. I didn’t want to continue arguing because I’ve been going to my girl for almost 5 years and don’t want to burn that bridge rn. I am planning on redoing it myself to save money. I’ve always been good at beauty things and I’ve toned and glossed my hair when it was blonde, but this is different since I’ve never filled my hair before.
I know I need to add some red tones back in, and have been doing my research on what products to use. I plan to use Redken Shades EQ- I’m thinking 6WG for the fill formula since I don’t want it to be overly red. And then after, probably something like a 4N to get closer to my natural color. My natural is a 3/4 neutral cool brown. I was previously level 9/10 blonde, but always have had some dimension still. Now with the faded brown, it’s more like a 7/8 in some spots and an 8/9 in others/ it’s starting to look dull since the red/copper tones have seemed to wash out.
Pic on the left was at the salon, middle is my hair after 3 washes, and right is my desired color. And to clarify, the color she gave me is what I asked for since she said it would be herder to go darker than that with the blonde underneath and I agreed to it since I just wanted to go dark again. I did plan on going even darker again if I liked it and I loved it until I washed it lol. Now I just want to be at the same level as my natural but with a little bit more of that chocolatey richness like in the last photo. With my hair in its current state, will the 6WG followed by a 4N be good, or should I look at something like 4NCH? I am open to any other recommendations as well. Thanks!🫶🏻
