Yellow 'shield' on tongue piercing
Hey so this is my 6 month old tongue piercing! This bump came over night (on the top of the piercing hole, picture two) and it's stiff like a wound or crust kind of but its not bleed or hurting. It's pretty yellow (not so much on the fotos) but it's not pus. I changed my piercing to a slight bigger one to help it heal (i usually wear 8mm long bar, I have a pretty flat tongue).
My jewelry is Surgical steel as far as I'm aware and my healing was easy, this is my first "problem" I've had so far. With the slightly longer bar it's slightly sore, but nothing concerning. The only thing that concerns me is the yellow "shield" behind my piercing hole😭
I haven't eaten anything spicy nor ripped it or some sorts, also very unlikely that this is an infection.
Let me know what you think it is! I'm confused
