taking out nostril piercing weekly

so i got a nostril piercing almost two months ago, and it’s given me no trouble whatsoever so far (i clean it all the time, it isnt inflamed or anything).

my friend asked me to play on her netball team which means i would have to take it out weekly for roughly 45 minutes - an hour.. is this gonna make the hole close/get infected? theyre very strict about no jewellery, but i’d put it straight back and spray it with the cleaning spray. it fell out for the first time yesterday and didn’t hurt/react at all to put back in, so i’m thinking it might be fine?

Merci d'avance !

Amusement park with recent piercings

Not sure about the flair.

Hi, I have a possibly silly question. I had my conch, helix and flat done on one of my ears two weeks ago. I'm going to an amusement park next week.

My piercings seem to be doing fine. The inflammation seems mostly gone, I don't feel them if I don't touch them but they do hurt a bit if something hits my ear accidentally.

I'm planning to avoid the type of rollercoaster that could have my head banging from side to side.

Is there any other precaution I should be taking?

Blew my ear out at 25mm

Trigger Warning for Blood & Pus

Hi, i blew my ears out at 25mm i have since downsized to

19mm over the course of a week i tried 23 but i realised silicone is bad. But in general my question is how can i heal this and move on from it? And does this look like a keloid or just the skin being raised from so much irritation? Ive blew my ears out before but this is by far the worst one.

The first 2 pics are from taking out the 23mm and the last are my 19mm and how its looking now.

(Also im so sorry if i post this wrong this is my first time using Reddit!)

Lumps forming under ear lobes

Around 2-4 days ago I started to notice pain on the back of my ear, and since yesterday I have noticed small lumps forming behind my lobes, they hurt quite a lot and I'm. It sure about what to do with them.

Piercing is 2 ish months old. It is a stainless steel bar, I believe externally threaded (idk the difference), for aftercare I use Punktured piercing spray every morning after my shower, have not downsized the piercing as I intended to stretch. There has been no major issues I have had, mild bumps in those months. I went to the gym recently and they randomly started bleeding quite a lot while I was on bench.

How are my already healed first lobe piercings getting bumps/irritated?

I’ve had my first lobe piercings since Sept of 2025. They were fully healed , able to move around, switch them with no issues. I also had an amazing experience with the healing process. My body is a slow healer with piercings always has been but these were definitely fully healed. I than recently on April 2nd got my second lobes pierced, they were fine but less of a great experience as it was from an apprentice. They hurt alot more healing. Than finally on April 6 I did my own third lobes on both ears & helix on left ear only. I did 4th lobes too & flat on left ear on April 24 but took them out because it was way too much. I know i’ve done way too much and I wasn’t expecting for my seconds to be fully healed. But now i’m getting piercing bumps and irritation on my healed 1st lobes? What is going on, i’m also getting alot of crust which is expected. I also took out my 3rd lobe on right ear cause it was swallowing the jewelry. Nothing is infected but it’s very crusty not painful at all but what’s happening with my 1st lobe? I put pics below.

snug piercing bumps

I got my snug pierced almost 2 months ago, together with a forward helix.

after the initial swelling went down, it formed 2 huge piercing bumps, which I've now had for over 1 month, with no sign of calming down.

it is also my first time seeing a snug pierced with a ring, so I'm wondering if I should downsize. the ring often gets caught in hair and clothes.

I've asked the piercer about it, and he said I don't need downsizing and to apply an anti-inflammatory ointment.

i have many other healed cartilage piercings (many helix and conch) and I've never had bumps this bad.

I'm worried it might be infected, and removing the jewel might "trap" the infection in the wound, with the surface skin closing before the cartilage.

what should I do? is it really wrong to downsize?

I would love to hear other options.

is my Daith pierced correctly

i got my faith pierced today by a reputable piercer and obviously he knows more then me but just looking at it idk if the placements off🥲

New Daith

Today I had my absolute dream piercing of cruella_piercing in Goettingen in Germany.

We tried it two years ago. At that time, the jewelry did not pass. It hurt so much that we had to break off.

Today I felt ready and still needed 20 minutes before I could overcome myself. It was the best piercing experience imaginable. Liz and Phil were super nice and so patient with me.

The stinging itself wasn't too bad either. Two years ago, it was unbearable. Today I would award a 7/10.

is this normal during healing?

I got my lip piercing on April 10th 2026, I’m wondering if this is just scaring or something to be nervous about. It had fallen out a week ago due to the ball coming off so I went to my piercer and had them put a new one in, pretty sure they downsized it but not sure. (I had lost the ball when it fell out). I know you want to wait 6 weeks typically before changing it so maybe that’s what’s up? But I’m not sure. Any advice/help is great! (The gage is 14, I clean with sterile Saline piercing wash and use a q-tip to remove any crustys once in the morning and once in the evening. I also wash my mouth out after I eat with water).

What should I do for my first piercing?

so for my birthday my mum is paying for a piercing but I can't tell which one I want.

I'm absolutely in love with the anti eyebrow piercing and think it would suit me very well, but maybe I'm blind.

another one I like but and probably most definitely not getting are the dimple piercings. Super cute but very bold and leave bad scars.

The main two I'm set on are spider bites, (maybe just the one because two is expensiveee) and the anti eyebrow.

Theyre not the average starting piercing and I like that!

I don't want my nose or eyebrow just yet because they feel so incredibly boring to me. But... I do think the eyebrow piercing isn't as basic and I do like it a lot more than a nose piercing. So I don't exactly hate it.

also sadly no septum xus of my dad😮‍💨

I do also like the vertical labret!

ones I like-

anti eyebrow

Spider bites (the full ring not just the balls)

Vertical labret

Eyebrow piercing

I dunno, but idk like to hear some outside opinions!

Those are some photos of me, with full makeup, no makeup, everyday look, stuff like that.

Is my brow piercing rejecting?

I’ve had this piercing almost a year. It’s internally threaded , I clean it once a day with saline solution from neilmed , I don’t sleep on it , it hasn’t received any crazy trauma. Originally I had two brow piercings next to each other . The last one rejected and when I removed it the bump on the one I currently have disappeared for a while and it was awesome. Now it’s back and I have this ugly flesh skittle there 💔. I’m not sure if it’s rejecting. Any advice is deeply and greatly appreciated !

floating navel rejecting?? help!!!

hey!! i'm super nervous about my floating navel rejecting and so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated!! i got it done (i think, if not the exact date its a couple days off) febuary 19th of this year. its now may 20th and i know its not fully healed but im nervous!! i went to a reputable piercer in my area and was pierced with a titanium barbell. they gave me a piercing soap they made and saline spray. for about a month and a half i cleaned twice a day with saline and once at night with the soap. after that, i left it alone. maybe 2-2 1/2 months in i tried changing it to a piece of jewelry i got off amazon (so smart am i right) which was stainless steel. to interject really quick i had no idea that stainless steel was bad. 😂😂 anywho, after that it turned into what it is now (see pictures below) and im scared that i made it reject. 😭its done something like this before, i had noticed that on the bottom there was some redness, granulation tissue (i think thats what its called), and excessive lymph fluid coming out of it. it also was EXTREMELY tender (it would sting so so bad) but i figured out that was just from high wasted pants. i also went and saw my piercer and she says it was just a moisture bump. it went away and all was well until i decided i was bored and wanted to change the jewelry. 😂😂 its been like this for maybe two weeks now and im only cleaning it with the soap at night. i also apply emu oil on it at night. keep in mind i also take very long baths which probably isnt best for it, so im planning to stop. any advice? is it rejection or irritaion? is it fixable? help!!!! lol!

edit: it has the original jewelry in that i got pierced with! i also have noticed the skin between the gem and the disc has gotten somewhat smaller and thinner. not very noticeably dramatic, but enough to make me think of rejection. is that migration or rejection?

Nostril piercing after injury

Got my nostril pierced just over 2 months ago at a tattoo shop. Healing was going great, saline a few times a day, really gentle with it. About a week or two ago I felt like it was time to shorten the bar (poking my septum, sticking out quite a bit). Of course as soon as I notice that it’s time, it gets snagged. No huge deal, just formed a small bump and had a few crusties. Went to my piercer just to have him look at it, and he said this is normal and to come back in a few weeks once it’s calmed down. Fast forward to this past weekend, I got kicked in the nose by a crowd surfer at a concert. It bled pretty good, and the past few days there has been a pretty thick crust of blood all the way around the stud that hasn’t budged even with saline spray and touching it gently with a paper towel. Should I be concerned or just continue with saline 3x a day?

i cant stop fiddling with my piercing. please help!

hiya guys! i got this one pierced 4 weeks ago and i havent had any major problems! i do however have an issue with fiddling and playing with the piercing. i dont do it constantly, but i will admit i do it far more that i should. [i do the same with spots and have a skin picking problem.] i think its getting very irriatated, and although it doesnt hurt, i really dont wanna ruin this piercing and damage it.

how can i stop? did anyone else have similar issues? i really dont know how to start, and will listen to any advice.

thank you for reading :)
