How to fix large flames
I bought my oven brand new a few years ago when I was 16/17, but I've never really been able to use it because the oven burner wouldn't even light. (The stove top works well)
Over the years, I've paid a couple of people to come take a look at it, but they basically just opened it up, put it back together, and charged me without actually fixing anything. Looking back, I know that wasn't the best decision, but unfortunately, the technicians where I live don't seem to have much experience repairing this type of ovens/stoves.
A while ago, with help from the Reddit community, I figured out that the igniter was likely the problem. I recently bought a replacement igniter and installed it myself. Since I use LP (propane) gas, I also converted the oven from its natural gas settings to the LP settings.
The oven now lights, but the flames are still very large and yellow. I've already tried adjusting the air shutter, but it hasn't made a difference. The igniter also Burns and I'm not sure if that's normal 😵💫
The oven is a General Electric AGBS45DEF1BS.
What else could be causing the large yellow flames, and what should I check next? Is there anything that could have been missed during the LP conversion or installation?
