Microphone only prodices static noise and no voice input
I bought a FIFINE AM8 microphone at half price. The box arrived in perfect condition and the mic looks brand new, almost like first owner. The only small detail is a tiny scratch on the metal part where it connects to the base, and it did not come with the original FIFINE USB-C cable.
So I bought a cheap $4 USB-C data cable and connected it to my PC. The microphone powers on perfectly, RGB lights work, and all buttons (mute, lighting control, etc.) work normally.
However, there is no proper audio input at all. In the Windows sound test, I only hear a constant low fan/turbine-like noise. My voice is not detected at all.
In Discord, the mic sometimes gets detected, but the sound is very robotic, distant, and cuts in and out. It does not work properly.
Windows detects the microphone and everything appears normal, but the audio input is just noise and unusable.
I tried different settings and troubleshooting (different ports, settings, etc.), but nothing fixed it.
Some people suggested it might be the cheap USB-C cable not providing stable data transfer, while others think it could be a hardware issue.
I need help to understand what the real problem is and how I can fix it. Thank you.
