Resolved:by walking outside and back inside to reconnect the wifi.

My wifi has internet. I'm literally writing this post on the same wifi right now on the computer.

My phone says that it is connected to the wifi, but that the wifi has no internet.

Minutes ago my phone wifi was working just fine until it just started doing this now. It shows the wifi + "!" symbol now.

What could be causing this? Why does my phone lie that the wifi has no internet? Why does that happen what triggers it anway and how do could I fix it?...'

I'm not tech illiterate at all but this is just mystery to me.

I don't feel like trying to switch the wifi off and back on, vbecause very often I have the problem that it will then refuse to toggle back on. Literally the toggle itself. Then I swipe it back to on and 1 second later it toggles back to off so I want to avoid that problem.

Not really much too it. I have been struggling to keep my C drive empty. Most of it is on me for not doing my due diligence to keep things from installing themself on the drive. I will often go back through and delete junk files or things I no longer use in that drive. Every single time I go back I always see the Google file which contains a "play games" file that eats up almost 3 gb. I delete that file every time and then every time again I see it sitting there. It won't let me delete google because it says it is open. I can't find a solution. Someone help!

It’s been about three days of me trying to figure out why my Ethernet has disappeared from my computer after not using it for two days, I am on windows 11, I have a MSI B670 Gaming WiFi PLUS motherboard and I’ve been trying to go at it this time for 3 days now. I have a solid orange light on my Ethernet port with the Ethernet plugged in but nothing showing that it’s working at all on my computer, I even brought a new Ethernet cord just to see if it was some physical issue with the cord and yet nothing, I looked through multiple videos, online sources, reddits communities of trying to restore the Ethernet back onto the computer. Here are some of the things I tried already..

- Restarted the PC
- Restarted the router
- Unplugged/replugged the Ethernet cable
- Windows Network Reset
- Changed DNS manually to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8
- Ran ipconfig /flushdns
- Ran ipconfig /release and /renew
- Ran netsh winsock reset
- Ran netsh int ip reset
- Tried disabling/enabling the Ethernet adapter

I even uninstalled the Driver for the Ethernet in my Device Manager and reset the computer for Windows to detect it but yet nothing. I’m honestly confused and don’t know what to do now. I really have no idea how this happened in the first place.

I have a wireless headset with a microphone that can't be detached. I use the headset mainly for audio, but it agitates me when Windows lowers my volume when I play a multiplayer game or I am speaking to someone online.

I've tried doing a bunch of stuff on Sound Panel (changing settings in the Recordings section and disabling Exclusive Mode in my headset's Properties tab), but yet my audio keeps getting reduced.

I've also tried changing Voice settings in both Steam and Discord (which are meant to stop audio volume from decreasing), but yet nothing changes.

Windows does stop reducing volume when I disable the mic altogether. However, I want to use both the headset audio and microphone simultaneously without my audio becoming lower in quality.

I've heard that having your sound input and output device as the exact same device can cause my exact issue. But I still want a clean solution.

Are there any settings that I haven't mentioned that could potentially fix my issue? If not, is there any bit of software I can download that can fix my audio issue?

A WD Western Digital 22TB External drive I only began using 6 weeks ago seems to have developed some weird issues. I noticed idm software taking ages to finish saving a youtube video, then I noticed moving a file from the drive to another drive was going to take much longer than normal,    there were other issues too , I ran anitivirus scan which found nothing

So I have plugged in another empty new hard drive and began transferring the files off the bad drive to the new one, its taken over a day to do 3tb, I have about 5.5tb to move. Once ive saved my files I plan to delete the files on the bad drive and reformat it incase the file system has somehow been damaged etc

 

After that what free software can I use to test the hard drive ? I want to test it for errors and see if its reading and writing data at a normal rate

The phone (Galaxy j7 Refine) came preloaded with a bunch of bullshit. Facebook, amazon, gmail, prime video, etc. Is there any way to have a "clean" or as clean as possible restart? Preferably without logging into google to activate it.

I am able to manually disable some, but not all of these applications, but they frequently turn themselves back on. I would like them removed permanently

NB: the phone is old and is not going to be used as a phone. I am not putting a sim card into it and I plan to tinker with it as a network device (I don't know what yet) but it will not be used as a regular phone

My wifi network works on all other devices connected to it, but my PC seems to be having a lot of issues with it.

Solutions I've tried:

- Router and modem restart

- Full network reset

- ipconfig command line prompts

- Uninstalling and reinstalling network adapters/drivers

When I use my phone as a hotspot internet connectivity is just fine, so I know that something happens when I try to connect to the internet via my own wifi network.

If anyone needs more information to help narrow this down, please let me know and I'll be happy to provide it.

Running Tailscale on the TrueNAS server as well as the PC, but I’ve had the Tailscale VPN disabled on the PC for some time as it created issues connecting via SMB to the server for some reason

Like the title says my wifi went from its regular speeds to not even being able to load a wifi speed test and it has been like this for hours. I've tried restarting the router a few times already and it's on every device in the house

Its a windows 11 pc with antennas for wifi. It used to be in the basment, but now its upstairs.

I tried forgetting the wifi and reconnecting. I have also checked the wires and the antenna to make sure they are secure. No other devices are expirencing this problem. I think I have had this peoblem before with this pc, but I can't remember what I did to fix it.

Basically im trying to play this game that was only sold on cd or dvd idk but uh its expensive and modern computers dont have that so luckily there was exactly one twitter post mentioning the game(there were also like 2 japanese blogs about it from years ago that werent helpfull) and from some person in the comments i got a link to a site they owned ti play the game. So after that i managaed to play it and uhhhh i firgit about it eventhough it took me like 20 whole hours to fix the game and make it playable (it had corrupted and missing files and my computer couldnt read it and everything just took a while cus im bad at tech)

So today i decided to try and finish this game and uhhh i tried to play it on my old computer that i originally downloaded on and it didnt start.... so i was like "damn whatever this computer sucks anyways lemme try to fix it on my better computer that also sucks" so i copied all the files to my other computer with a usb stick and now i have this (translated from japanese) when i try to open the exe file

Asking this out of frustration with my PC being serviced for months already (since August), and I still haven't got a definitive answer. Got the info about the overheating problem roughly two weeks ago. Bought the PC in 2023, found out about the issues with the specific CPU months after I bought it. I had hoped it would never happen, but here we are. It started with singular crashes in July; I thought nothing of it at first. By the end of the same month, I couldn't even properly turn on the PC, and it already crashed.

I recently built my first computer, and it lights on, loads the Windows logo when it should be loading my aorus motherboard logo and puts it at a low resolution, and then says "no signal" after a few seconds. I'm really new to building computers. I was able to boot into safe mode after restarting it a few times to enter automatic repair. I took apart everything and reassembled it to make sure everything was in right, but nothing was working. I am positive that  the monitors or the wires aren't broken.

I have a Lenovo Legion laptop running Windows 11 that yesterday inexplicably stopped connecting to wifi.

It can SEE all the wifi networks, available, but when you try to connect, it simply says it can't connect to the network. When attempting to connect to networks it's been on before, it asks for passwords, even though there have been no network changes. Then it fails to connect, even with correct passwords.

I tried using my phone (iPhone 17, up-to-date, have used as hotspot dozens of times before with no issues) as a hotspot, and when enabled the laptop sees the hotspot pop up, but when it tries to connect, it causes my phone to restart. This has never happened before, and now ONLY happens when my laptop now is trying to connect. It can hotspot another laptop in the home perfectly fine right now, I checked.

I have tested the wifi with other devices, including another laptop. They are all fine; the problem is definitely with this laptop. It worked one day, I put it to sleep overnight, and the next it did this. No changes, no damage.

Connecting to my router with an ethernet cable DOES work for now.

What I have tried

• Restarting
• Shutting down and waiting hours before starting
• Resetting network settings
• Running Windows network and internet troubleshooter; restarting the wifi network adapter (from Windows network troubleshooter); resetting the wifi network adapter; restarting computer after each of the previous
• Turning off and on wifi
• Making sure Windows Update is up-to-date
• Checking if there was a recent Windows update (not in the 18 hours between "wifi works" and "wifi doesn't")
• Running Lenovo Vantage scan of components
• Disabling wifi adapter/card in Device Manager then shutting down and restarting
• Uninstalling wifi adapter/card in Device Manager and restarting
• Installing drivers from Lenovo (link)

I've recently switched back to Windows after using Linux for a while, everything works fine but it won't give me an option to connect to the wifi, just asking me to connect via Ethernet cable, which I don't have is there anyway I could bring it back or connect a different way? (like through command prompt)

Hi, this is my last resort at trying to find help since I genuinely have no idea how to fix this, I'm not very smart with computers so I'm hoping to find some help here.

I'll add some backstory just in case it might be important. I recently downloaded AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition so I could fix my framerate on some of my games. After I installed it my computer started experiencing frequent freezes and lag spikes when playing games, so I uninstalled it and restarted my computer. But that did nothing and my computer still performed badly, so I updated windows and everything kinda went downhill from there. My computer became even slower and my refresh rate was lower, so I reinstalled AMD Software and that seemed to fix it. Again I am not sure if this is what caused my hard drive to become corrupted but I'm just leaving this here in case it'll be helpful.

(What's happening)

I was going to play some games but all of my shortcuts are broken (Steam, Epic Games, Rockstar Games, are all corrupted). I checked file explorer and saw that my hard drive is no longer formatted to (D:) drive. I was going to re format it to my D drive but it said that if I did so then I would lose all of my data on it. I ejected my hard drive and unplugged it and plugged back in, but that did nothing. I opened disk management and it said that my (D:) disk is "RAW".

I have almost no hope and I really don't wanna lose all my files, I have multiple game saves, movies, videos, photos, and other files I do not wanna lose. I am praying that someone could help with this. Thank you.

Hey y'all.

I'm not too terribly tech savvy, and was wondering if I could get some help. I updated my NVIDIA GPU to version 617.42 and now my larger games (Aion 2, Marvel Rivals) keep crashing with an error msg stating I don't have enough video memory. Sometimes the crash is right when the game opens, and sometimes its mid gameplay after playing for 5-10 minutes. I tried uninstalling multiple games including Aion 2 but will still crash on Marvel Rivals. What can I do?

basically the title. i would give all of my specs, but as you can see, my monitor won't turn on. i tried making sure everything was plugged in properly, and then when i went to try and turn it back on afterward, my monitor just... didn't light up. at all.

is there anything i can do to force it back on so i can try and figure out what's going on?
