Recover deleted voice notes on an iPhone from an Android user

I was clearing up storage space on my iPhone and accidentally deleted some sentimental voice notes from my boyfriend. He has an android device. I thought I had my iMessages backing up to iCloud but for some reason it was turned off. I’ve searched around my phone and tried google, but figured it was worth a shot asking here. TIA!

Windows forces US keyboard

It keeps adding the US keyboard to my keyboard list despite it not being in my languages list. The only way to get rid of it is to add it in my language list and delete it but it comes back a few hours later. How can I stop it from doing that?

Can't connect to this network??

So my laptop randomly disconnected from my house wifi and everytime I try reconnecting it, the prompt says "Can't connect to network". Genuinely dont know what to do because is was working fine a few hours ago and we have other mobiles in the house connected just fine and I've already done basic solutions like restarting the PC and forgetting the network but that doesn't work (I haven't messed with the wifi router yet). I'm thinking its something wrong with the PC itself like wifi adapters but I dont know for sure. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Windows requests I use security key when I don't have one?

I got a new PC and ever since I had it. Windows instead of asking me to create passkeys or using passkeys instead asks me to insert a security key which is weird. It did this when I also tried logging in and no matter what I do it keeps asking for a security key. I've never used a security key once and I haven't found a solution online and this is really annoying as I cannot use my passkeys on this PC

Thinkcentre M93 reboots itself.

For the first time this computer, 12 years old, rebooted itself, twice within a few minutes. I took off the top and put my box fan blowing on it. It's been good for the last 2 hours. What's the likeliest problem? Power supply? CPU? RAM? I have 16 GB RAM, never use that much, could take some out. If it's the SSD I could take out the CD on top of it if that would improve its cooling. I cleaned it thoroughly a week ago so there's no dust. I know I should get a new computer, so don't bother to tell me that.

Post Power outage issues

Afternoon, I'm trying to troubleshoot one of my friends PCs and i'm a little unsure of what could be the issue and looking to bounce off some ideas.

The other day their house experienced a power outage. Before the power completely cut, the power gave out then came back in rapid succession 3 times, when power fully came back, the PC would only start in a windows recovery environment where it would fail under ANY selected option.

They DO NOT have a surge protector. Only a basic power bar which the computer is plugged into.

I did not play around with the command prompt option.

At the time of initial evaluation i thought that maybe the Motherboard or their HDD boot drive got taken out during the power issues.

What i've gone over:

  1. Regular boot up and attempt options in Windows recovery. Would end in a reboot to the same window.
  • no system restore to go back to.
  1. unplugged the HDD with the OS and installed a blank working SATA SSD with the intention of installing copy of Windows on it.
  • Before plugging in my boot drive, i confirmed if i could get it to post to BIOS. It could when the HDMI/Displayport were plugged into the GPU.
  • When plugged directly into the motherboard, an image would not be displayed.
  • Potential problem here, i didn't unplug the GPU prior to testing this, so that could be a reason why no image displayed.
  1. When plugging in my boot drive, i swapped the BIOS to boot from it for the fresh install onto the new Sata SSD, an image displayed but it was broken.
  • The image would show an initial black window, presumably what i think would be the expected mobo logo but was deformed into the bottom of the screen, then progressed to a blue windows which i assume was supposed to be the windows install, but it was simply a blue screen with a black bar on the side. Safe to say that isn't correct.
  • The image only ever appeared when plugged into the GPU directly. Into Mobo would produce a black screen.

What should my next steps be?

I'm assuming probably confirm whether the image stays off or comes back and is messed up with the GPU unplugged. If the image is still blank, that basically says the issue is that the Mobo is cooked?

Any other tests i should perform to nail down what may be the issue and needs replacing?

Can't log in to Windows laptop

I have an older laptop (MSI GS75) that I use once or twice a month. Today I tried to enter Windows 11 using my PIN like I normally do, and it said:

>This sign-in option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempts or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hours and then try again.

So I tried my password but the password I have written down for Microsoft didn't work, it said:

>Your device is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this device.

The laptop is shown as connected to WiFi.

Well I guess I don't know what the last password I used on this device is, I usually use a PIN and I've changed my Microsoft password multiple times since I last used it on this laptop.

So, I chose to update my password. Verified through an authenticator app, then it asks me to do the two-step verification. It has my email address automatically selected and asks me to enter the exact same email address below it in a field where it's already automatically filled in. Doesn't make any sense to me as a security step, but whatever.

Then I got the email on my phone (despite my laptop supposedly not being connected to the internet) and entered the code and it allowed me to update my password.

Now when I try to log in with the new password:

>Your device is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this device.

It's not offline! So I plugged it directly into my router, taking the ethernet cable from my desktop PC that I know is working, and plug it into the laptop, and reboot it for the 5th or 6th time at this point.

>Your device is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this device.

PIN number still doesn't work.

So I boot into safe mode and there's no icon for the WiFi at all. I plug in the Ethernet cord and there's no indication of whether or not it's connected.

>The password is incorrect. Try Again.

Does that mean it thinks it has internet now? But it's 100% the new password I set.

So I decide to try resetting the password again. Back into regular boot mode, back into WiFi, attempt to change the password to the same new one I just set it to a little while ago, and

>You used an old password. To protect your account, choose a new password.

SO IT'S OBVIOUSLY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.

Try to log in with the new password,

>Your device is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this device.

Any thought before I chuck it across the living room? Just kidding, I'd just wipe it if it didn't an important and unattainable piece of software on it. I guess I could pull the drive.

Potential Water Damaged Phone

Last night i accidentally left my phone in a bag that got tossed in the washer. i got it out but it had been about 10 minutes before i did. I put it in a bag with rice and a few silica gel packets overnight and it appears to be working fine today with no issues but im nervous there may be some hidden damage. like something wrong with the phone that you wouldnt be able to tell from normal use, the audio sounds fine, its charging, its on, the screen looks fine, and everything else seems to be working ok, but i have this nagging feeling that theres no way a phone put through a soapy, water-y, 10 minutes of washer can just be ok with no caveats. I guess what im asking for is advice on where to go from here- if it's working fine should I still be concerned? or should I just be grateful its ok?

as for troubleshooting all we've done is dry it overnight and I just checked the LDI and didnt see anything (though im not familiar with LDIs so I may have not even found it)

the phone is a Pixel 8a, and i can give more specifics if necessary,

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks ! ^^

Update: thank you to everyone whos shared their thoughts/advice ! I'm working on backing everything up now, so hopefully things will be alright in the event that i need to transfer my data to a new phone.

laptop dead after cleaning with 99% isopropyl alcohol spray

A couple of days ago I decided to clean my laptop in preparation for my summer break. I used isopropyl alcohol and a lot got inside the guts of my laptop. I didn't think much of it since ethanol isn't conductive. After a minute or so i powered it on and it worked just fine. After this I decided I didn't need to actually use my laptop so I turned it off. After about 15-30 minutes I wanted to use it again and... Go figure... It doesn't turn on anymore. It did however still charge which was noticeable because of the battery light indicator. The power button does not light up at all. A couple days after this the battery indicator no longer works. My dad noticed there was a reset power function but that didn't work either. I have not yet opened up the laptop but I could do it given the expired warranty. Thank you so much for already even reading this.

The laptop we're dealing with here is an MSI thin gf63 with an RTX 2050 and an intel core I5 12450H

If there is any else you'd want to know, just tell me and I'll do whatever I can!

Need help, new pc keeps crashing

I’m not in the IT field but I dab enough to get myself into a few pickles. Just built a new pc and it keeps randomly freezing. It freezes when not under a load usually browsing the internet or downloading. Mouse stops responding then I get a black screen and eventually it reboots.

I have tested the RAM and the SSD they passed
I thought it was the gpu mount so I installed a robust support bracket. I swapped out the PSU because I thought that might be the problem. Updated the BIOSE and installed all the drivers directly from the motherboard manufacturer. Runs Cinebench and Furmark flawless even at the same time.

I spilled a small amount of sweetened tea on my Mechanical keybaord, it suddnely started working again. Am i in the clear?

Heyy,

I spilled a little amount of milk tea in a small area surronding the enter key. I dryed it and random keys stopped working or kept continously working even in areas very far from the spill.

I remived all the keycaps. I clenaed with alchohol and cotton swab. I used air compressor to remove any dust/hair.

Suddenly all the keys work but i turned it off.

Its been 1 hour. Should i keep testing it or wait on a day.

Also more importantly, if it continues working tomorrow will I be in the clear or there is a high chance it suddenly stops working again?:

Burned CD Not Playing in CD Player

I just recently had bought a custom burned cd and when I received it and placed it in my CD player, it didn‘t work. The player would try to read the disc, but after a while it would just display “no” on the digital screen. I have a CD player that I bought off of Amazon, made by MICOCIOUS, and as far as my research has gone, I’m pretty sure they said that this CD player can play burned CDs of different formats and such.

I tried cleaning off the disc or carefully cleaning the lens in the CD player. I also made sure other CDs were working in my player and yeah they worked just fine. And when I mentioned all this to the seller, they said that it worked just fine on their end and that when they put it in their cd player it was working perfectly fine.

I’ve been trying to fix this for a couple days now and i’m really struggling to figure out what the problem is so if anyone could help i would really appreciate it, I just really want this CD to work.

Should I reduce the frequency of my memories or increase it?

Guys, I have 32 GB of RAM (4x8, 3600 MHz), but one module stopped working. I bought a replacement of the same model, but with a slightly lower frequency (3200 MHz).

My question is: Can I overclock just this one module individually to 3600 MHz, or should I set all three to 3200 MHz?

Crusher ANC 2 Bluetooth headphones keep disconnecting randomly

THE ISSUE: My headphones keep will occasionally disconnect anywhere between every 15 minutes or every 12 hours on my OMEN HP PC. The span of time is inconsistent but it was not a problem for 6 days until I reset my PC recently and it started happening again. The audio will disconnect and I will check my bluetooth setting. It will say "connected" but not "connected mic, audio" which is what it normally says. I will hear the "disconnected" voice come through my headphones 10-30 seconds after I notice the audio cut out. Sometimes (not always) the video I am watching when this happens will buffer for 10-30 seconds as well (not dissimilar to when wi-fi cuts out) but will unbuffer and resume in silence afterwards. Eventually (as late as 2-4 minutes later) the bluetooth device notification will update to "disconnected". When I re-pair the bluetooth on my device, sometimes it says "can't connect" in red text or other times it says "connected" but the audio still isn't working - I will sometimes hear the "pairing" voice in my headphones multiple times while it says "connected" and no amount of waiting or re-clicking "disconnect/connect" button in the bluetooth device manager works so I have to turn my headphones off and on until it does (which may take 1 to 8 attempts to resolve).

WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR:

- I have testing the headphones on a laptop and android phone and neither device has any issues. It's just my OMEN PC

- I have uninstalled and reinstalled each bluetooth driver and restarted my computer.

- I have checked for updates for bluetooth drivers

- I have checked any drivers that can be installed for my computer on HP's official website

- I unchecked the "allow computer to turn off the device to save power" option

- I ran a windows bluetooth troubleshoot to fix "check bluetooth radio status"

- I restarted bluetooth support service under services.msc

- I went to the Troubleshoot Bluetooth problems in Windows section of "Get Help"  to run automated diagnostics to try solving your Bluetooth problem and followed every troubleshooting recommendation (even if already listed above)

WHAT HAS WORKED:

- Nothing.

Please read everything so that you don't give me help with something I have already tried. If there was a troubleshooting step I forgot to mention I will add it in an edit as help comes in.

My laptop is getting very low downloads speeds compared to everything else in my house

My laptop is getting 8 mbps on a download from Steam, to make sure it's not just Steam, I tried with other apps and an internet speed test and the results have been consistent. My phone reads 85 mbps on an internet speed test and my fiance's laptop downloads things fine and the speed test was 80 mbps. I don't understand how to fix this, I've tried a lot of things so far so I'm just going to list them.

- Checked for other downloads or background processes

- Restarted computer

- Reset router

- Tried Ethernet (same speed)

- Reset network from settings menu

- Checked for drivers updates in device manager (none)

- Checked for Windows updates (none)

- Changed adapter to only use 5 GHz

- Reinstalled Windows

- I ran several commands through the CMD window that I read about online.

- Turned off power saving features for network adapter.

Nothing has worked, it's consistently the same result. If I go to my settings, my adapter shows how much internet it's reading, which is 79 million bytes, so that's reading correctly. It's like my computer has the Internet, but won't distribute it.

My fathers USB peripherals always go to sleep. Always has to restart to fix.

Good evening everyone.

I am posting this for my dad. He has a windows based desktop PC that was a prebuilt. He has had it for a while and this problem, according to him, just began.

Basically, "Like clockwork, every morning regardless of time I have to hard shut down. Then push button to startup. This is because the keyboard and mouse go to sleep and only wakeup with reboot. About an hour or so after startup the wifi is recognized. Keyboard and mouse wake up upon restart."

I assumed it was something in device manager he can go into and like change how power is sent to the peripherals, but he went into power options from settings and changed them like I told him to, but he says its still happening. No idea what it could be other wise.
