I’m so annoyed, I went to order it today and looked at the prescription order to confirm and went ??????. I’ve emailed CARE, the pharmacy, and the individual prescriber. Since it was after they closed, they won’t see it until at least tomorrow, but that’s IF they see it tomorrow, everyone knows the delays of communication with them.

I’m just shocked and so disappointed & frustrated by how careless this mistake was. I will surely be without medication for days which is just making this titration process even harder. Not to mention the mistake was drastically differing to my actual agreed treatment and prescription, not even similar where I could see how it was confused.

What I got:
• 28 x 30mg Elvanse
• 14 x 70mg Elvanse

vs.

What I ordered:
• 14 x 60mg Elvanse
• 14 x 70mg Elvanse
• Two boxes each of 30 x 5mg Amfexa

On the phone the prescriber sounded so fed up and bored and like I was a nuisance, probably wasn’t even paying attention. We even confirmed the new prescription on the phone multiple times, and I was sent a confirmation email of what we discussed + the new doses. So it just feels like a slap in the face? Am I over reacting here? I get mistakes happen, but this is a controlled drug! The doses and amounts aren’t even remotely close to the new or previous ones, 28 days of one and only 14 days of the other, plus it’s missing the Amfexa. I don’t want to sound like a Karen but I’m beyond pissed, the wait with CAREADHD has been in general long af, and by the time they see it, check it, authorise it, re-send it and the pharmacy receives it, it will be ages and then I also wait for the pharmacy to send me a link to confirm and place the order, then wait for delivery. It just sucks and I’m spiralling a bit bc it feels like shit to skip even just one day on them :(

This summer I’ll be going to a country in a different continent where stimulants are not just controlled substances, they’re on the completely banned list, even with a prescription or doctor’s letter.

It’ll be for a few weeks and I’m going with family so I don’t want to risk the chances of them checking, and there’s no predicting how lenient they would be if they found out, even with an official explanation. I really don’t feel like getting into any legal trouble in a country so far both in distance and customs in which I don’t even speak the language, where I could potentially be detained and ruin their holiday too :/

There’s been times where I skipped days and the experience was horrible, constant sleepiness and fatigue, low depleted mood, anxiety through the roof, stress/irritability with feeling sick and useless bedrotting because it made me realise how much I depend on them to function well and emotionally regulate. It’s going to put such a damper on what should be a pleasant time.

I guess I’m just venting but I really wish it wasn’t like this, I can understand that some places don’t agree with certain or all stimulants and won’t license it for themselves, but travel is so globally accessible nowadays, it shouldn’t be that you’re shit out of luck to access your own meds and the lack of discernment with these cookie cutter laws & regulations are genuinely harmful.

We’re in 2026, but ADHD is still yet to be taken seriously and treated with compassion or even understanding by the majority of individuals *and* governments
