Albums ranked:
Very consistent album with many of my favorite songs of all time, not just by Deftones. Not a bad song on this record. Easy number one for me. The title track is my favorite because of how raw and heavy it is and the instrumental is amazing. And I love how the guitar ascends along with the chorus and the vocals complement that.
Very underrated in my opinion, a lot of people have this album low I feel. The only song I don’t enjoy off of this album is pink cellphone (obviously.) The reason mein (PRONOUNCED MINE NOT MAIN GET IT RIGHT) is my favorite song off of this album is not because of serj tankian but, and I will say this a lot, is because of the chorus. Simple as that. Also drums are great.
Pretty easy top 3 for me, the last 10/10 album in my ranking; all top 3 are 10/10. Very consistent album and 8 strings yes I love 8 strings I love them. Also so many great choruses in this album; Diamond eyes, beauty school, risk, I could go on for hours about the choruses. The reason sextape is my favorite is because of TAKE ME ONE MORE TIME and chorus obviously.
VERY overlooked album, was top 3 before listening to diamond eyes enough very raw and aggressive amazing album I could talk about this album for so long. Great beat drops in this album yk like hexagram, bloody cape, a few others. The reason hexagram is my favorite isn’t because of the chorus (ikr shocker) bc of PAINT THE STREETS IN WHITE also one of their heaviest songs and a ridiculous amount of screaming.
Great album and I could also go on for a while about this one the only reason it isn’t top 3 is because there are more songs I could skip regularly off of this. Tempest and what happened to you are personally not for me but that’s about it. Leathers and poltergeist very underrated SHEDDING YOUR SKIN love that chorus. Shouldn’t have to even say why entombed is my favorite song you should just know.
In my opinion, the most overrated Deftones album. Don’t get me wrong, it is a SOLID album but there are just too many tracks I skip on this album. Not the hugest fan of feiteceira or passenger might be two of the most overrated Deftones songs. But digital bath, oh man, it was my favorite Deftones song for years (before I did a discography listen through) and when I was just a casual fan (only listened to certain songs that I added to my playlist.)
Adrenaline. Where it all started. Great album with some bangers here and there and he got bars don’t get me wrong and the guitar tone is bustanuttable (yes I made that word) but it just doesn’t hold up as well as other albums they have. SUCK SUCK SUCK and WELL ILL TELL YOU ABOUT MY SMOKE STACK yeah you get the point.
I’m personally not as big of a fan as most people of this album. Yes, it is a big comeback album for them, but I think as the band ages, their music just won’t be as good to me, at least in my eyes and based on my music taste. Infinite source is my favorite because of those harmonics bustanuttable ohhhhh.
Not much to say about this album but it is very consistent compared to some of their albums. Love the 9 string guitars great guitars 9 strings I can’t count that high. The spell of mathematics pretty heavy song I DRANK THE POISON RIGHT FROM YOUR HANDS yeah pretty great song overall.
Gore really isn’t that bad. Yes, it is their worst album, but it’s really not terrible in my eyes. It’s got some solid choruses and guitar work is pretty good. Acid hologram is my favorite mainly because of the vocals. It was a toss up between acid hologram and doomed user but I ultimately chose acid hologram.
