Hey. I'm looking for a laptop so I can game and do productivity work. I really love the Zephyrus. Love how light, sleek and powerful it is, even thought I know it can get noisy and overheat.
Because of that I was thinking about the idea of gaming on it on more medium settings so I can game comfortably. I don't think this is unreasonable, even tho I can imagine people thinking I'm "buying a ferrari to drive it at 80kmph" but I think its more "buying a ferrari and having the prudence to not use it to extremely dumpy terrains to not ruin your car nor your comfort, and if you want to drive at 350kmph sometimes on a safe road you can then". I think paying for a 5070ti and having the option to limit is potential so I can experience the limits of a 5050 or 5060 BUT with low noise and thermals on a light/portable machine is not wasted money - it's buying that comfort. Because, wouldn't an actual 5050 or 5060 Zephyrus on those same graphics overheat? Doesn't this make sense? And then if you really need it (like if you're just rendering a video or a 3D project and don't care about temps/noise) you have the option to really use its limits. I came here to ask if Zephyrus owners who played on medium graphics and/or performance modes experienced this comfort?
I just really love this laptop's design and form-factor - it's so professional looking, not like those heavy gaming laptops that look like cyberpunk sportscars. But I'm also kinda scared because SuggestALaptop people on Discord say Asus products dont last a long time, are full of risks and problems and their costumer service is terrible. I wanted something to last 5 years.
My other option is the Omen Max 16 (sleekest than the Legion 7i). But with charger it is almost 1 kg heavier than the Zephyrus with charger.
Thanks.
TLDR: Love the Zephyrus G16 portability, design and power but know it can run noisy and hot from how thin it is so I'm asking if running a 5070ti on lower settings makes the noise go away while still having maxed out 5050/5060 graphics? Also I'm worrying about the warned risks of this laptop told by the SuggestALaptop Discord.
It's for my desk setup. I want to split the aux signal between my woofer/tweeter speakers and my subwoofer while being able to adjust each's high/low-pass. Something around 15-25€ or less that does the job well. Thank you so much!
