A2: So, humans celebrate the day they were born huh? I heard other Androids talk about it sometimes.

"Yeah, that's about right. It's considered a big milestone. It's often brought along with a party, gifts, and cake too. You even get to make a wish."

A2: A wish?

"Yeah! I wish to write some incredible stories, and meet new people."

A2: So if today was my birthday, would I get a wish then?

"Of course. What do you wish for, A2?"

A2: Hmm.. A trip to the forest in this world would be nice.

"Hah... For you, I can make that happen."

A couple days ago, I learned that I shared my Birthday with a special someone from NieR: Automata, a game that changed my life. Wanted to share this picture I took as of 12:30AM EST!!

Happy Birthday A2 🤍 Thank you for the memories you brought me, along with 2B and 9S. I'm forever grateful.

Words cannot describe the journey this game has taken me on over the last 4 months. Everyone has their own story of NieR: Automata. Today, as of 3:17AM EST, I get to tell mine.

I first played NieR: Automata on January 24th, 2026. I had heard of NieR before, but had never touched the series. To be fair, I was 14 when it first came out, and I doubt I could have handled it back then. My brother lent me his copy while I was visiting, and I got through the very first section of the game. I knew that when I got home, I had to finish it.

Over the last 3 months, through completing Route A in February, and the slow progression to today completing Ending E, it's been the ride of a lifetime. The memories of 2B, 9S, A2, and this game as a whole will stick with me for the rest of my days. I'm 22 years old, to turn 23 on May 19th. No game has ever made me cry before, and I've been playing games since I was 3-4 years old.

NieR: Automata brought me to my knees in tears.

I got HUMBLED. I didn't know a game could do the things NieR: Automata did to me.

Yoko Taro, if there's ever a day where you read this, I want to thank you for making a game that got me through one of the toughest times of my life. I can only hope the stories I tell in the future live up to the ones you told to me, to all of us.

I'm so glad to have met this community, and my adventure is not over. Replicant is up next, and I'm ready for my journey to continue and see where NieR began (Drakengard isn't available to me yet, I haven't forgotten lore specialists lol).

I'll be around this place, and I look forward to meeting other fans of NieR, and introducing new people to this masterpiece. Y'all welcomed me in with open arms and I'm eternally grateful.

I'll leave with my TRUE final message.

"So, you decided to not give up, huh? That's good. They're counting on you, you know? They're counting on all of us. It's time to bring them home."

9S: I'd sure say. It's pretty peaceful, honestly.

A2: I could do with peaceful for a little while.

9S: Well, maybe we can have a break before we head back to the Resistance Camp?

2B: We shouldn't. We can't allow distractions-

A2: It'll be fine. I'll handle Lily at the camp for the delay. It took us all day getting out here. Let's just kick back for a few minutes, alright?

2B: Hmm... Fine. But we won't stay long. The camp still needs us.
