Will I see weight loss the first month on 2.5mg Tirzepatide?
For context, I lost over 60 lbs on 1.75 mg of ozempic. I had to stop cus my insurance stopped covering it and gained back 50 lbs. I then started again when I found out my insurance covers wegovy instead, I’ve been on the 1mg dosage and so far I’ve lost about 20 lbs since beginning of March through a mix of calorie deficit and strength training. The appetite suppressant aspect really isn’t that effective anymore.
I have PCOS and wow my sugar cravings are insane and unmanageable at times. My endo at the time thought it would be a good idea to start on tirzepatide instead as it’s better for inhibiting food noise. My insurance approved and by next week I’ll be transitioning to the 2.5mg starting dose of Zepbound.
I’m a little scared, seeing that I’m steady losing weight but afraid that switching a medication will stall that weight loss. My question really is, given that tirzepatide is proven to be more effective than semaglutide for weight loss, will I see significant scale changes in the first month of 2.5mg zepbound? Is 2.5mg of tirzepatide stronger than 1mg of semaglutide?
