Well, this sucks

The game that I’ve vouched for since day one, the developers that I’ve supported and backed, I’m done with it. This game feels like shit and it doesn’t help that the devs have no urgency to make any changes after the last update. It’s not all on them though, this terrible community that just abuses the same bs all game have ruined this game just as much as the devs.

I’m sad, I love the concept of this game, I love the unique players, I love the “evolving” style that the players have, but it’s all just overshadowed by incompetence and the same garbage fidget spinning and mechanic spamming that almost everyone does now that the rest of the players left. Theres no urgency to fix this, and as much as I love the ambition of the game and its devs, there’s not going to be a game for those ambitions to come true in if you don’t fix the game now.

Genuinely the game feels like a chore now no matter what game mode I’m in. Im a divisions 4/5 player who is average at best with an average squad so I know I’m not one the ones that should complain this much, especially because it seems like all you listen to are diehard mechanic spamming “players”. It’s crazy though, you know which football game does the SAME EXACT thing? FC…

I’m so upset that I’m done with this game, because it had promise, it was a new footballing game, but there’s just no point coming home after a long day working and immediately getting “get cooked” “skill issue” spammed by someone that takes advantage of your inability / procrastination to fix this garbage gameplay.

Hopefully I’ll play this again, hopefully it’ll be better, but right now I’m just done trying to support this.

Unfortunately this is once again a rant post from me, sorry mods and community.

Man I don’t know what all changed since the most recent patch, but this has been the worst the game has felt in a while. Zig zag dribbles left and right, no way to defend them manually, byline bandits that just sprint down the line and sweaty it in every second of every game, it just feels like garbage. It feels like everything the community has said the problems were have just been discarded and the changes that have been made are only to upset the ones being critical of the game. Obviously that’s not what’s happening but the changes that have been made seem like intentional backsteps in the games development.

Highlighting one of the main ones nerfing manual defending. Are you kidding me? Whose idea was that??? The entire community has said that AI defending is too good and manual defending isn’t good enough, to the point that players are being rewarded to NOT play defense. That’s not football. And what’s been the response? Nerfing manual defending and buffing the broken aspects of this game, like come on that’s just a dumb call.

One bright side, passing feels a lot better to me personally,
Especially with the passing indicator on. I use the early pass receiver lock and think that this setting mixed with the new “patch” has been nice.

My ideas? Buff manual defending MASSIVELY, there should be no reason that players are being penalized for using their defenders. Make the acceleration off of zig zag dribbling or close dribbling more noticeable, there shouldn’t be any reason that the dribbler can go 0-100 instantly. Buff AI defenders positioning SLIGHTLY, there should be no reason that when an attacker is attempting to sweaty it across goal that the defender that ain’t being controlled is 10 feet away from them, almost like they’re intentionally being left open.

I’ve been supporting this game since day one and I’ve tried giving the devs, moderators and anyone associated with the game every benefit of the doubt but man this most recent change has been nothing short of awful.

I’m curious though what the community has to think, do you like the recent gameplay changes? What do you agree/disagree with that I said?

Unfortunately this isn’t a nice or good post. This game is becoming more and more unplayable every single day and it’s a healthy mix of the broken mechanics and the jobless players that abuse them all match. More and more im only coming across the same formations, same fidget spinning garbage and same pay to win squads, constantly being outmatched. It started in ranked only but now every single mode is feeling like a chore whether it’s ranked, tournaments, knockout or even quick play. The same issues that we as a community keep saying seem to be happening and keep being exploited to the point of the football game never including any football.

Passes and player lockons to them, still broken. That just enables everyone to spam running in circles until the opponent can’t do anything about it or the game pulls the defenders out of position. Consistency with through balls, shoulder tackles, goalkeeper saves, etc are just awful. Pay to win is in full force. I get the games been out for almost 2 months, but the fact every single team I play against (outside of tournaments which obviously restrict teams) is better than my own.

I truly like this game and want it to succeed. There’s so many cool elements in it and about it and the development team being so involved with talking to the community is amazing. But every day the game feels more and more sweaty and broken and it’s really starting to drive me away especially.

Please guys, fix the broken crap every abused so that it feels like a football game and not a game of “who can abuse the broken mechanics more”

The new tactics make the game feel so much more fun, it’s one of the few things I liked more about FC26.

I’ve been using a 5212 that focuses on the wingbacks running up the pitch and finding the AM (on shadow striker) or my right ST (False 9) and then moving the ball around there in an attempt to find my poacher or one of the wingbacks again and it works super nicely. That’s something I couldn’t do before that I like.

The close dribble circle spamming still seems excessive at times however, it seems a little less overpowered. Left bumper dribbling feels a little overpowered right now and I can’t quite put my finger on why.

With the dribbling change I feel like there more of a skill gap now, just because people can’t spam the same broken mechanic and expect it to carry them every game, though it is still something people are trying to abuse.

The game feels more responsive and passes feel slightly better, though I personally think they still need a little more work.

Finally, the new objectives that act as long term goals to get those packs is a nice addition, especially for us free-to-play players.

I’m curious on what the communities thoughts are on the update.

Overall I REALLY like the new update and enjoyed the game more while playing today than I have before. Good stuff GOALS team!

I don’t think you all get enough credit. All the whining and complaining from us (which I’m 100% guilty of) and you all keep trying to make changes for the better, communicate with the players and really listen to people’s feedback and considerations.

Though a lot of people dislike the game right now (I am in fact NOT one of them, I quite enjoy the game right now), it definitely feels more playable and responsive than how it did the first few weeks. It feels like a game I actually want to play rather than a chore, sometimes at least (only in ranked).

Keep doing what you guys are doing and I can see the game being around for a long time. Personally, I love the fact that every player is unique, I love the fact that even though there’s a few “meta” formations, you can adapt your playstyle to whichever formation you play and it’s still useable.

How can you try to distance yourself from FC26 and then come out with a player that everyone likes and only make him obtainable for $17? Why couldn’t you do what you did with KSI and make it so we can get bad versions for $1. That’s genuinely such a terrible play from the GOALS team…

No skill needed! Just spin in circles and wait!

So this is my thoughts after the recent patch after completely crashing out two days ago.

The game actually feels playable long story short. Defenders actually feel like defenders and not statues waiting to just get passed. User tackles are far more responsive and effective rather than just winning the ball perfectly just for it to go right back to the opposition.

Passes actually feel like they’re going where they’re supposed to go now, and not just to the other team like before.

Stats actually feel like they matter, mainly strength, ATT Iq and DEF IQ. You can very clearly tell when an attacker is trying to tackle for a ball compared to a defender, AS IT SHOULD BE.

I feel like the only people upset about this patch, are the ones that just spun around in circles at the top of the 18 or just ran down the byline the entire match. Is that still effective? Yes but there’s actually ways to combat that now rather than just praying.

Those are my thoughts, I genuinely think this is a change for the better and makes it a game of actual football rather than just broken mechanic abuse. What do you all think?

I have no clue what they did with the most recent update, but they’ve ruined this game. I went from winning most of my games to winning 1 out of 17 today.

The amount of tackle backs my opponent gets as well as the AI runs they’re getting compared to my players is unreal. It’s like my players are intentionally leaving spaces to run in behind and trying not to be open as much as possible.

I’m consistently going against teams monumentally better than my own as well as my opponents being much better than me. What “SBMM” existed definitely doesn’t anymore.

I concede the same goals, my team passes not going to players I need them to so they get intercepted or tackling the ball and their players crowd mine so I just give the ball back.

It could be a “skill issue”, but then why am I not playing against similar skill players? Is it that dead already?

This game is 100% for people that want to sweat their butts off and in no way meant for casual players. I wanted this game to do well, but I’m hoping it starts to die because this garbage is just horrific to players and keeps getting worse.
