My name is Nino and I’m completely new to D&D and Baldur’s Gate.
Before starting the game, I was honestly pretty skeptical, especially about the turn-based combat.
This is my first real D&D and Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough ever and honestly… this game completely consumed me.
At the beginning I felt totally overwhelmed and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Now I’m around 45 hours into my first run and completely immersed in this world.
I’m playing a charismatic rogue/thief and from the start I wanted my character to feel like an intelligent manipulator. Someone who prefers words, deception and stealth over brute force. He helps people sometimes… but usually only if it benefits him too 😄
At first I mostly relied on sneak attacks with a bow because I barely understood the combat system. But eventually the class completely “clicked” for me and now I absolutely love the rogue playstyle.
Sneaking into enemy camps, manipulating conversations, betraying temporary allies later and slowly building my own ambitions inside the world feels incredible.
And something I absolutely didn’t expect: how emotionally attached you become to companions 😭
I somehow ended up in a Shadowheart romance… while simultaneously falling more and more for Karlach.
This game genuinely showed me why people love D&D and RPGs so much.
