Coverage of Kate visiting Italy is so completely baffling to me

Just crowds of people coming out to gawk and fawn over a random woman.

They interviewed people in the crowd and some woman was saying how amazing it was that she got to "touch her arm"

I can't even imagine behaving like this even if it was my favourite celebrity, I just find it so weird.
