(NOTE: I've watched Hazbin hotel exactly ONCE and I'm not gonna rewatch it. If any of my information is wrong, please correct me in the comments immediately)

Vaggi has so much potential to be an interesting character, and the show seems determined to use as little as possible of that substance

​

First of all, she's an exorcist! We know that, that's interesting, that's her tragic backstory! As far as I can recall, exorcists aren't winners but angels made in heaven, and while I couldn't find a source proving or disproving this, weren't they made FOR the extermination? Holy SHIT! By feeling sympathy and sparing a sinner, Vaggi has literally defied the reason she EXISTS, that's a HUGE deal, and oh the show is gonna glaze over that. okay, fine, they have other things to focus on.

She felt sympathy for a child sinner, and she's kicked out of heaven for it. A classic fallen angel, kicked out of heaven for not living up to their ideals. How does she get by and adapt in Hell? Does she learn anything from sinners? How do her view and opinion change as her world does? Maybe she sees the child demon return to its family, and knows she could've been the sole reason these parents would never see their child again, as she had been for so many other demons? Does she start feeling sympathy for the adult sinners aswell? Does she regret leaving heaven and view sinners pessimistically again, by struggling to shake off her old views or by seeing them actually being horrendous?

How did she manage to survive down in Hell before she met Charlie? Hell, how did she meet Charlie? Isn't Charlie also very sheltered?? She seems to be by the way she acts. Why did Charlie and Vaggi notice eachother, was it by accident, or did Vaggi express some positive emotion to Charlies ideas she hadn't gotten from any sinner before that?

While we're on that note, does Vaggi believe in the redemption, and why? For selfish reasons, like wishing to try and reach heaven again, or perhaps to one-up the very thing she was, an excorsist, by proving they had a better solution to overpopulation, and some sinners actually are deserving of mercy? Or maybe selfless reasons, purely going along to help her positive and naive girlfriends ambitious plan, or maybe so she can make sure none of the more helpless sinners ever have to suffer death again?

That being said, her opinions on heaven seem to be very negative, and we know why- she was kicked out for sparing one child, and apparently Lute and Adam treated her old girlfriend horribly, that makes sense! But doesn't she long for heaven, at all? Not even a little bit? Heaven is supposed to be the end goal, a place where everyone can be happy in harmony, so doesn't she long back for this life of simple joy between the extermination? Maybe she prefers Hell now, because of the freedom that it granted her after the oppression she felt in heaven, but that's mostly me grasping at straws of the information we've been given. Does she even PREFER Hell, or does she just hate Heaven THAT much??? Or maybe excorcists were excluded from this life completely, which questions Heavens morals in creating this army to protect them, yet excluding them from their society in the progress, but that's leaning back into the existencial part from the start which the writers don't seem keen on picking up.

Also, this is probably just Vaggi veing a victim vof the shows limited runtime (8 episodes per season!! WTH!!!) but she's based on a moth, right? IS she just based on a moth, or is she disguising herself as a moth demon so other demons won't notice she's an angel? If the second part is true, some simple foreshadowing to her disguise being a lie would be for her to interact with Valentino, a full on moth demon, and make him give her some snark remark about how she's very 'plain' for a demon so similar to him and then have him insult her for either not having wings or having her wings so small he couldn't even see them, and for HER to get unusally pissed off at him but holding back her tongue because he (albeit accidentally) reminded her of the fact her wings were ripped off?? I think that would be a good way to tell the audience "Hey, somethings off about Vaggi, she's being fucking weird and possibly hiding something!!"

Also. Lucifier. Did LUCIFER king of Fell, Fallen angel number one not notice his daughters girlfriend was an ANGEL? Are fallen angels so rare he didn't think another one would exist??

Were there other like Vaggi and Lucifer who went to Hell and never came back, or is that an unfamiliar thing? Do angels know or expect they could fall, except the exorcists who know what happened to Vaggi?

I think it would've been better if Lucifer knew, and kept it from Charlie. Would also make Charlie distrusting him in the future make sense.

Also! The reveal to Charlie. Charlie doesn't seem to care about Vaggi killing so many sinners, who Charlie seems so eager to prove redeemable. Shouldn't this be a very big deal to Charlie, who has worked her ass off trying to prove to heaven sinners should be given a fair shot at redemption, only for it to be revealed to her one, if not THE person she was closest to had spent her whole life up until they met slaughtering souls that could've been saved and brought to heaven?

Oh my god Vaggi had so much potiential and they refuse to expand on it in-universe, she could've been one of the most complex characters about not just the redemeption of sinners but the redemption of the exortists, who were only ever given a weapon and a target in life and expected to slaughter to prove their worth and not join the very people they were killing, i'm so pissed off it's 4am i'm gonna sleep now. ok bye. i would smash her if I was a girl ngl
