I’m with everyone that there should have been more ramifications for Adam’s death and he should have been mourned in heaven . BUT, I’m tired of people always acting like that Adam was a righteous crusader against only the worst of the worst.

Sera and Adam themselves admit they don’t know who gets into heaven and why, and going over real world religions (this depends on sects), suicide, fornication, theft, and heresy (atheism or believing a rival religion or evolution if the religion is really crazy) are means of getting into hell. Pentious made a real mistake being too frightened to report Jack the Ripper but him dying in an extermination wouldn’t have fixed it. The narrative that the only sinners in hell are evil hyper Nazis is wrong and if you want to critique the show downplaying or ignoring an explicitly stated point is not a good way to do it. Not only that Adam massacred at random there are plenty of horrific people he left untouched Alastor and Valentino for one. He brought pure chaos and no discipline deconstruct hell’s hierarchy.

I’m tired of people downplaying that Adam enjoyed killing people who are his children for reasons he didn’t understand to make points about other characters that don’t fit the narrative. There’s plenty to criticize Charlie, Lucifer, Sera, and Emily for but ignoring the character you’re trying to prop up isn’t helping win any favors. If you’re upset that Emily and Sera showed more grief for people they didn’t know I agree with you, but don’t sand off the edges of your favorite character.

Btw I’m not judging you for liking Adam, I love Hatemonger from Space King if that means anything. Still Sinner Adam is a major missed opportunity.

if a "vague and mysterious form of good" its the one who decides which humans go to heaven and which go to hell, without any interference from the angels, It doesn't make sense that Sir Pentious was the first to be redeemed.

Are you telling me that from the beginning of humanity until now, not a single miserable human being has regretted the sin they made and "undone it" as Sir Pentious did? Are you kidding? If angels would be the ones making this kinda of work and Charlie convinced them that people could improve, it would make more sense. Millions of people would have regretted what they did, heaven just ignored and didn't believe in their potential until charlie prooved them wrong. But that's not the case here. The only angels Charlie "Convinced" is black Hit- i mean Sera and Emily, no one else.
So how in the world this stupid snake is the first one to have regretted their sin and "undone it" ever????

(Ignoring the fact that nobody asked the victim that sir Pentious allowed to die if they were ok with him being reedemed, or how the show ignored that he participated in territorial wars in the past and definitely hurt/killed many people)

I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way, but I get the impression that the *Hazbin* pilot (and *Helluva*'s, to some extent) conveyed an atmosphere of hopelessness and apathy—whether through visuals or characterization—that isn't reflected in the shows themselves. It’s as if Hell felt more "hellish," so to speak. Maybe it’s simply because we lacked information back then, or because these were our first impressions of the characters and their world, but that’s certainly how it feels to me.

I was kinda expecting that Stolas was going to turn because Loona and Via are friends and recognize that just because he’s not the one for Blitzø his daughter’s friendship was special.

I’d add a line for Emily where she shows concern for the dead exorcists. She’s supposed to care about all souls, whether they’re winners or sinners, and seeing her show no reaction to their deaths makes her look bad. Especially because she later goes on to save Alastor, who is worse than any of them.

Criticize anything about the show and the hardcore fans will point to stuff that's present but not actually developed as an excuse. Here's an example:

Charlie is an out-of-touch moral dilettante and this is an intentional flaw (true).

A competent and natural character arc for Charlie would be for her naivety to have bad consequences that she's forced to confront and grow from (also true but this hasn't really happened. Charlie keeps making dumb decisions and getting bailed out by other people).

Therefore every dumb thing Charlie does during the show is 100% intentional and good writing. If you take issue with it, you're either media illiterate or you just need to pipe down since a few more seasons of steamy yaoi will address all your issues.

See what I mean? The show has lots of elements that **could** be the set up for interesting stuff. There's a version of the show out there where Charlie learns how to make good arguments and becomes more self-reliant. But it's not there. The show never commits to anything so there's always an escape hatch for every writing decision. And the thing the show didn't have to get bogged down with moral philosophy if it didn't want to. Hazbin could easily have been more of a satire of celebrity culture where Charlie is self-consciously doing the hotel as a hobby and everyone is just going along with because she has money and power. But in reality the show wants you to take the redemption stuff at least semi-seriously while refusing to define what exactly redemption means. It wants the prestige of being deep without doing any of the actual narrative work require to pull it off.

tl;dr VivziePop has everyone playing narrative whack-a-mole.
