hello! next month i will be rescuing 2 female dogs who will not have met each other before the day i pick them up. they will be coming home together each in their own kennels, and i was wondering what the best way to introduce them to their new home and to each other. we have a nice, fully fenced in back yard with a specific potty area for them that i would like to start teaching them to go as soon as possible (only once their ready of course). as mentioned they are both rescues and are likely to be very shy at first, which i’m prepared for as my last rescue dog was extremely traumatized and took a very long time to even come out of her kennel once we got home. should i simply just open their kennels in the same room inside the house and let them meet when they come out ? should i open the kennels outside in the back yard close to their potty area and coax them in? any advice would be super helpful. this isn’t my first experience with a rescue but is it my first experience with two dogs at the same time. thanks !
