I expected at least a *little* English?
My genetic results VS my amateur records work on familysearch to learn where my ancestors came to Canada from. That fan chart view only goes back seven generations (1800s) but the ones who arrived earlier were mostly from England and the Netherlands/Germany, so I'm a bit surprised to see no English genes whatsoever.
I was initially surprised to see a relatively low number for Ireland, too, but the Ancestry Composition page did note the influx of Scots to Ireland in the 17th century. Would the same have been true of Scots moving southwards to England at some point?
Certainly no major revelations, just learning more about the scientific side of things. I'm even more Celtic than I realized haha!
