Although there is no name for this trope, it's pretty common to see it in comedy and drama shows! The "Pine Barrens" episode is what I would describe an episode with the main plot or the sole plot of 2 main characters in an undesirable situation and/or location, where the chances of success and/or survival is low.

My examples are:
Pine Barrens (The Sopranos, S3E11) - focused on Christopher Moltisanti and Paul "Paulie" Gualtieri getting lost in the Pine Barrens after >!a failed attempt on killing Valery, aka the Russian, aka the Interior Decorator, an ex-commando.!<

4 Days Out (Breaking Bad, S2E9) - focused on Walter White and Jesse Pinkman getting stranded in the desert after >!the keys for the RV were left on the ignition.!<

Bagman (Better Call Saul, S5E8) - focused on Saul Goodman and Mike Ehrmantraut having to trek in the desert after >!the former was involved in a shootout because of the 7 million dollars in cash he was carrying.!<

ronny/lily (Barry, S2E5) - focused on Barry Berkman and Monroe Fuches dealing with the consequences of >!the former not killing a taekwondo master's otherworldly kid daughter.!<
