Tested "Modafinil 100mg" from same sketchy RX party supply site as my last post - interesting results, can't quite nail down a conclusion
If you saw my last post, I tested some "Adderall 30mg" from a website selling RX party supplies alongside some other stuff. Simon's came back vivid blue, confirmed meth. Not Adderall.
The same source has what is being sold as Modafinil 100mg. Given what happened with the Adderall, I was interested in testing these as well.
I have attached photos of the pills directly from the site they were purchased from, the testkitplus reference chart for modafinil, Mandelin result charts, and my actual reagent results so you can compare everything side by side.
The pills themselves are white, round, with a generic "Rx" stamp and not a legitimate pharmaceutical imprint. Already a red flag going in.
Results:
Fentanyl strip - negative, clean.
Marquis - started yellow, moved to orange then darkened to brown by 30 seconds. The testkitplus chart for modafinil shows yellow to orange/brown so this is roughly in range.
Liebermann - orange moving to darker orange/brown. Again, reasonably consistent with modafinil on the chart.
Mandelin - this is where I'm not sure. Chart shows modafinil should start nearly clear/white and transition to a pinkish/mauve/reddish tone. Mine went straight to orange and darkened rather than going through that clear to dark reddish/pink progression. Not quite what I expected.
Simon's - completely clear, no reaction whatsoever. I ran this specifically because the last batch tested blue for meth. This one showed nothing which at minimum rules out methamphetamine.
Where I'm at:
I don't have Mecke or Froehde which both react with modafinil and would help nail this down further. With what I have the Marquis and Liebermann are pointing in the modafinil direction but the Mandelin colour progression was off enough that I can't say with confidence this is definitely modafinil. Could be a modafinil analogue, could be something else in the eugeroic family, could be modafinil with adulterants affecting the Mandelin read, could be something else entirely.
What's interesting is that unlike the Adderall from the same source this one isn't showing any obvious red flags, no meth, no fent. But the Mandelin being off has me curious what experienced eyes make of this.
I won't be sharing the source to protect myself and others. If you're buying from unregulated sites please test everything before anyone touches it. Happy to answer questions about methodology.
Images attached include the pill photos pulled directly from the site (which matches what they look like), the testkitplus modafinil reference chart and my reagent results showing each test at 5 seconds and 30 seconds for comparison.
Bought "Adderall 30mg" from a sketchy online RX party supply site — Simon's turned blue. Need some experienced eyes on this.
So my friend picked up what was sold as Adderall 30mg IR from a website that markets itself as selling "RX Party Essentials" alongside shrooms and other stuff. The pills look identical to legitimate AD 30s, same orange color, same imprint, same score on the back.
I've been getting into reagent testing lately so I figured I'd run them through the full panel before anyone touched them. Here's what I got:
Marquis: fast orange to red/brown. Consistent with amphetamine.
Liebermann: orange to red, slightly lighter than the chart but within range. Still pointing amphetamine.
Mandelin: started yellow, slowly moved toward green over a few minutes. Again, consistent with amphetamine.
Simon's A + B: this got interesting. Started with the dark reddish brown you'd expect from Adderall, then kept going. Ended up a deep indigo/purple, almost full blue under a flashlight. I redid the test using sterile water dilution (heard this reduces false positives) and got the same result, vivid blue.
For reference I've included the testkitplus color charts for both amphetamine and methamphetamine, plus the full Simon's reaction chart, as well as the picture from the website, the pill looks identical to the last image.
The blue Simon's result is textbook methamphetamine, but the fact that three other reagents all pointed amphetamine has me wondering if this could be a mixed reaction. Looking at the Simon's chart, blue also shows up with MDMA, MDE, mephedrone, PMMA, and methylone, basically anything with a secondary amine or N-methyl group. Lisdexamfetamine shows a reddish-brown on Simon's which could explain the initial color before it shifted.
Could this be a pressed pill containing a mix of amphetamine and methamphetamine? Or something like an N-methylated amphetamine analogue? The chemistry nerd in me is curious but the harm reduction side of me is just telling people not to touch these.
Fentanyl strip was clean for what it's worth.
Anyone seen results like this before? Posting all the images including the pill photo for reference.
