pre-purchase extra baggage on Qantas flight booked through American Airlines
Hi everyone, I’m flying one-way from Auckland to NYC in August on a Qantas-operated flight, but I stupidly booked the ticket through American Airlines. Because of that, I currently only have 1 checked bag included.
I’ve looked online and phoned Qantas and they only allow additional baggage for these kind of flights to be purchased at the airport.
However, I’m moving to New York for the year, and anticipate that I’d need at least 1 extra checked bag, so I’d really like certainty ahead of time about cost, and to know for sure what my baggage allowance is.
Has anyone successfully:
- purchased an extra bag online for a Qantas flight booked through AA?
- done it over the phone with Qantas?
- or had issues waiting until the airport?
Does anyone know:
- what email address I could contact
- if going to the Qantas kiosk at the airport well in advance of my flight to purchase the baggage could work?
