Campbell Tech Park Housing Development - Planning Commission Meeting Tue 10/13 7pm

Show your support for more housing in Campbell! There is a major development (290 units) planned for Campbell Tech Park. The planning commission is reviewing the project this coming Tuesday. This is the largest available area in Campbell for new housing.

Public show of support helps the project move through the process without unnecessary delay. Details on how to show support are the in following comment.

Some local residents are resisting the project due to traffic concerns. However, the only impacted street is McGlincy which runs from Union to Curtner. No new traffic will run through residential streets. Additionally the Env. Impact Report’s traffic study found the rush hour car volume will increase only 30% on McGlincy, with even less impact on the larger streets. Tech Park currently has office businesses that already create traffic in the area.

City Council Candidate Housing Questionnaire

We at Campbell YIMBY (more on that below) have sent out a housing questionnaire to all candidates running for city council in the upcoming election. It covers their thoughts on housing development, rental affordability, and pedestrian/biking transportation. Read their responses here:

Campbell YIMBY (Yes In My BackYard) is a pro-housing organization focused on improving the rate of housing production in Campbell. We believe that the cost of housing is far too high, and that local governments have a lot of control over housing production. Scroll down to the About section on the same link above to learn more.

I’m hosting a South Bay YIMBY table at the downtown farmer’s market tomorrow morning. Swing by if you’d like to discuss how to build more housing in the Orchard City. I’ll have a petition as well if you’d like to show your support to city council for more housing in our city. See you tomorrow!
