What should I do to prepare for accelerating before my start date September 1st?

Hello, I’m wondering if there is anything I should do to prepare for accelerating the BSIT before I start. I transferred 46 percent of the degree in, including the A+ and Network+ and all the gen eds. I work full time in a grocery store w no IT experience. Is there any preliminary studying I should do or anything else to prepare? Or should I make some kind of plan? Thanks

Has anyone had to drop their degree because loans will not cover enough

I just saw my aid and did not realize they charge you for 2 terms at once. I thought the tuition would be paid every term. and my loans are divided between both terms, but I want the loans to apply to one term, but since they are applied to BOTH terms, all the tuition isn’t covered by the loans. And since I have no money, I cannot pay it. I just wanted to pay 1 term at a time since I plan on finishing in 6 months.

So I guess I’m screwed and there’s no other way to get the degree covered? Has anyone else dealt with this? According to fafsa my “poorness index” or whatever is -1500 so I am in max need for aid.

I have already spoken with the financial aid people at WGU and i was confused about what she was saying and it seems like she was trying to avoid giving me a clear answer of “yes/no you will/wont be able to attend” so im screwed i guess?

How legit are the AI certs from CompTIA?

I was thinking to do the AI helpdesk cert but Im not sure if its accredited or is "indusutry recognized" in the same way the A+ and others are. Are the tests the same? Like a scale out of 900? I see that its branded under "Compcert", whatever that means. Im looking for something like an AI helpdesk cert, if that exists outside Comptia.. please let me know. Thanks

How do I get a UPS to connect to this panel, and then to my PC across the room?

I was about to do a bios update and almost comically the power went out seconds before i was gonna click the m flash button, and this is the 4 th or 5th time in 2 months the power has gone out in this apartment.

Now I want to get a ups, I am in a tiny studio but I don’t really want a cable going across the floor (not sure if i have a choice) and Im not sure what kind of extension cable to use. The cable box is like 8 steps away from my desk in another room.

How do I get a ups to connect to my network stuff and my PC? This is quantum fiber (if this picture looks familiar it’s because i posted it here the other day because of a different issue)

I am also not sure where to plug in the ups in that closet. Do I have to unplug anything? Do I need 2 UPS? If so what is best for the computer and what is best for the network box?

Thanks in advance

Having difficulty with wired ethernet for my quantum fiber internet

Hi I am trying to use wired cat6 ethernet for my computer because the wifi on my mobo is too weak, but it appears to be a dead end, so what I did was I unplugged the yellow cable connecting to the small box, then connected that to the blue patch panel.

What happened after that is it recognized the ethernet connection on my desktop, but it said failed to connect wired ethernet, and there was still no internet connection. then the wifi for all my other devices turned off...and my macbook somehow recognized my desktop and said something like " wired ethernet ubuntu 24.04 - cannot connect to server. Really weird.

Heres a picture of the wifi patch panel. I connected yellow cable from the small black box into the blue patch panel hoping for a connection, but like I said, it said the ethernet connection failed even though it recognized the connection, then my other devices wifi turned off. Do I need to configure the settings in Ubuntu like set an IP address manually? Then if i do that, how can I keep wifi for all my other devices?

Thanks!

TLDR: trying to get wired ethernet for my pc with my quantum fiber, but its not working.

Advice on accelerating

Hello, does anyone have tips or advice on how to do this best? I'm doing comp sci but am starting with WGU academy. I read that only going through cohorts and ignoring course materials can be good for some classes. What are other ways to be efficient and move through classes quickly?
