Next week, the Board of Education will have its first opportunity to consider and discuss specific school adjustments aimed at making our school district more resilient in this time of declining enrollment. The proposed adjustments will include school closures, consolidations, and reconfigurations.

Power outage - Heritage Park

Had a power outage at 3:45 am today, which is very unusual for the Heritage Park neighborhood, which is to the East of the old Safeway, off Cherry street.

Even when there are PSPS's, this area doesn't usually have outages.

Anyone else?

Gravity Brewing made the front page!

Thanks to all your comments to my post introducing my purchase of Gravity Brewing, as it got the attention of the reporter Julia King from the Daily Camera and made the front page!

I would say go buy a copy, but I already went to the neighboring 7-11s and bought them all :) Big thanks to Julia, who is clearly a Redditor, for making the process painless, writing a fun article, and including my favorite quote of the article from Scott, our Brewmaster, "I don't want to make junk" lol

Barking dogs

Dear Louisville,

Stop letting your dogs out at 6 am if they're gonna bark uncontrollably at people outside walking their dogs. I keep on having to change my morning route with my dogs because every other house I go by has a barking dog in the backyard. At least wait until 7:30 to let them out, especially on Saturday and Sunday.

Did anyone see a car crash into the Interlocken section of the 36 Bikeway today around 3- 4 p.m.? Bonus points if you have a photo or video.

Found a cute cat

This cat doesn't seem distressed but has been hanging out on my street near Hecla Lake in North End for the past week or so. Very friendly but I assume they're lost.

No collar, and the (cute!) marking on their face is just a marking not an injury.

Deferred judgment for speeding ticket?

I got a speeding ticket in Louisville. It's my first time getting a speeding ticket in Colorado.

I'm not looking to fight the fine, but I would like to avoid a conviction that lands on my driving record and affects my insurance.

I've only ever had one other speeding ticket in Texas. There, it was super easy to get a deferred judgement, take a driver safety course, and after 6 months without another infraction the charge would be dropped, and therefore not picked up by my insurer.

Is that a thing in Colorado? Can I do something similiar?

Crazy driver

We were just walking our dog past Fireside Elementary at about 845 when a darkish paint Jeep type body class vehicle with an overhead storage container turned north onto the pedestrian trail, jumped several curbs through the parking lot, went into the school sidewalk, turned around, jumped a few more curbs, before speeding off West on Dahlia.

Not sure if drunk or kids being stupid. We called 911 to report but if anyone else noticed anything might be worth adding a report. There were plenty of runners on the trail we encountered who could've been run over if timing had been worse.
