I am looking to start cycling from Stratford to Liverpool Street for the first time in 20 years! I would be interested in hearing from other cyclists who regularly travel the same route and ask if you had any advice.
My main concern is safety. I see a lot of new infrastructure is in place now and I looked at the route on Google Streetview and the route looks good for the most part (it even looks pleasant in places!) but less so in others. My expected travel times are arriving at Liverpool Street at 7.30am and leaving at 4.30pm.
I will be using Santander Bikes for the trip for a month whilst my cycle 2 work voucher comes through, which also gives me a chance to see if I like cycling in. I have checked bike and dock availability (a concern as I expect the route is popular) and availability seems fine for the bays I would use.
I found a similar post on this from 3 years ago (Cycling from Stratford to Victoria area? : r/londoncycling) which is useful but interested in hearing if anyone else had experiences to share.
