This horror book reminded me SO much of From

Hey people, I read HEX by Thomas Olde Heuvelt back in 2018, and it reminds me so much of the TV show From. The full title of the book is “HEX: The Witch of Black Spring,” and it tells the story of a cursed town haunted by an ancient witch, where the residents are trapped living under terrifying supernatural rules. I’m not saying the plot or format is exactly the same, but I really feel like the atmosphere, mystery, and overall concept of the series could have been inspired by this book.

And also, to quote the book: “Anyone born here is doomed to remain here until death. Anyone who settles here never leaves.”

That’s the part that reminded me of From the most. The whole idea of people being trapped in a place they can never truly escape feels incredibly similar.

If anyone here has read it, let me know what you think about this theory.

And if you haven’t read it yet, I definitely HIGHLY recommend it! 📚
