New Chase Card Technology Fail
Signed up for a new personal credit card through Chase. Entered all my info. Received notification that it was approved and that I could access it through my Chase App to start using it immediately.
It wasn't there.
I ended up calling Chase and, after an hour and 5 representatives they determined the name on my account (First, Middle Initial, Last) didn't match the name on the new card (First, Middle Name, Last), despite the address and social security number being the same.
When I was approved for the card, apparently, Chase spun up an entirely new Chase profile, the same in all aspects (SSN, address, telephone, DOB...) except it had my full middle name rather than middle initial.
Each representative failed to link the two and they had to escalate to engineering support. ETA on resolving, 3-7 business days.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills that Chase would link a new card to an existing profile based on name rather than DOB and SSN.
