Chase Bank: When did banks stop being 24/7 call centers?

I don't call Chase Bank often but today at 4:45am I needed to stop a check. I called several numbers and was told the Bank was closed.

When did this happen that they don't have 24/7 call centers? I could call at anytime day/night and get an overseas customer service person.

Can somebody explain?

Can someone explain the benefits of being a private client and how to make the most of it?

I am a med who is preparing to become financially independent. I just got my first paid credit card (CSP). I am pretty financially illiterate, but I am trying to navigate things myself and learn how banking works so I can make the most of the little money I have.

Long story short, I saw that if I link my card to Paze, I can get 10% points bonus. However, I realized that this does not apply to me because I guess I am some kind of Chase Private Bank client or JP Morgan client through my dad (he has a lot of money with them, I am super broke tho). When I call Chase, they always say they can't help me and they refer me to a private bank number.

What are the benefits of this, and how can someone in my position maximize them?

I am disappointed that I am ineligible for the Paze 10% bonus, so what are the perks of being a client of this status?

Also is there any workaround to use paze as a private bank client?

Does chase allow me to mobile deposit a check in a different name but endorsed to me?

My mom is gifting me a check that is in her name but she properly endorsed it to me. As in she signed it and wrote pay to the order of me. Can I do it on the app or go in a branch? The nearest branch to me is 30 minutes away.

$400 Bonus Question

Does anyone know if, for the $400 bonus for opening a new Total Checking account, one needs a single direct deposit of $1000+, or if one can still qualify with multiple direct deposits each smaller than $1000 but that add up to $1000 before the end of the 90 day window?

Help Getting Off Chase Banking Blacklist

Hello, I’ll give a quick rundown of the situation I’m in. Back in November 2025 I disputed some purchases from an order I never received. Couple of days later I got a letter in the mail saying Chase was ending my banking relationship because of those claims. While I do still maintain a credit card relationship with them I desperately want to get the banking relationship back with Chase. And yes I know, I can take my business elsewhere, but I genuinely loved Chase, there’s a Chase bank walking distance from my house. There’s always a Chase bank wherever I travel here in the US, also I did have an account at Wells Fargo and they were awful, so was Huntington bank. I do have an account at my local credit union but they definitely aren’t Chase. I currently have a citigold Private client account but I would rather have that money at JP Morgan Private client and my banking relationship mostly be at Chase/JP Morgan. Please if there’s anyone who could help or tell me who to talk to I’ll be grateful appreciate it. Thank you!!

Afraid to keep disputing.. should I sue in small claims court?

A gym I am no longer a member with continues to charge me for their personal training service. I had signed up for it at the start of my time with them. I canceled my gym membership months ago, but they continue to charge me despite getting help with Chase where 2 consecutive disputes were approved, one for $180 and the next for $540. Basically, every chargeback I win with Chase comes back as a charge from the gym again. Chase also put a 'stop payment' but still. And yes, it is my understanding per the personal training 'agreement' that once I cancel my gym membership, I should not be charged anymore (which is why I want to sue). Looking back into my statements, they pulled a new trick and charged me 2 days in a row (March 30 and March 31), $360 each which was the monthly charge for the personal training.

I'm afraid that if I keep disputing (even though they can clearly see it's the same gym charging me again) Chase will flag or even close my account. I am in good standing and pay my credit card off in full every month, and I've maintained that for about 4 years now. I otherwise don't really encounter any issues.

What would you do? I only have til the end of May to dispute as per the 60 day FCBA. Would you submit a formal dispute in writing asap, or sue, or eat the cost? I've never sued before, but I feel like it'd be the right step because clearly they don't care about overstepping my credit.

I’m being charged 3 times

I am having a hard time with Chase and I noticed grant has being charging me $26.50 twice and also charging me $9.99. I called them to dispute this but the representative is being rude and unprofessional. I don’t have them linked whatsoever

I’m looking to get my third credit card. 750+ credit score with 1 yr and 4 months. I live alone so I spend around 5k a year on groceries, spent 2k on food last year but I’m already past that this year so I wanna get a food/grocery card to maximize my earnings in those categories. I currently have the freedom rise(first card) and the freedom unlimited. What are y’all suggestions?

Chase Shut Down Points Transfers to Partners Night of Hyatt Devalue

Amazing...They just turned transfers off around midnight ET. Is this normal?

Edit 1:22 et. Still down

I think chase is having a mass migration of points. I’m estimating several billion points today. If 100-300k people moved 50k points on average we are talking 5-15B points. That’s $50-150m dollars moving. Hyatt is probably in lock down mode at this time. Their database can’t even handle the load (emails aren’t being sent, I also wonder if inventory itself is being displayed properly and if there are redundant writes happening). Let’s see what happens.

Can Someone Explain Statement Balance and Due Dates?

Currently have ~$1,400 on my CC from this month of spending. My statement from 5/1 says: New Balance $1,786.29, min payment due $40, payment due 5/26/26. I paid $2,201.84 on May 5th (I usually just pay the big number on my online portal because that makes the most sense to me, sometimes before my overall "due date", sometimes a few days after). But when I went to make my payment this month (second payment this month I guess), it says $0 min due and $0 statement balance. Does this mean I have until next month to pay?

Chase withholding inheritance check for almost 2 years.

I apologize in advance if this is a bit lengthy, it's Just that certain details need to be provided, and every employee I talk to is baffled by my situation, with no solution to date. I come here in desperation since I'm currently facing a mortgage crisis and am in fear of losing my home with an inheritance check currently cashed and waiting for me. The facts are as follows, my father died and left me two inheritance checks, made out from the IRS Treasury department, as he was career military. One was cashed and used. The first one I received I decided to open an account at Chase bank and cash it through them. Since my normal account is a credit union, I falsely believed opening an account at a national Bank would be wiser when dealing with a larger amount of money.

I signed the check over to Chase and Chase cashed the check, then tried to verify my identity AFTERWARDS with the IRS, however the IRS refuses to do an identity verification for any checks under 15k.

This happened over a year and a half ago and since they have held the check I have done everything Chase has requested,  including providing a death certificate and every known documentation you can think of. However, they refuse to release the funds, even with the threat of retaining an attorney,  until the IRS verifies my identity. I'm at my wits end and cannot sleep over fear of losing my house when I have a check owed to me from my passed father. Is there anything I can do, any type of form or something I'm missing to get the IRS to verify me? Obviously when I reach out they just tell me over and over they don't reach out to banks and verify. And when now after fulfilling every possible thing with Chase they say unless IRS verifies me I need to wait a possible additional year for them to cancel the payment and send it back to the IRS. This is a heartbreaking situation and my father would want my inheritance to be used in this exact emergency situation I'm facing. I appreciate any and all advice.

Chase says password was found on dark web, but doesn't say which one

I got an alert in the Chase credit journey part of the app that said my password was found on the dark web, but "to keep it secure" they aren't showing me the password (or any characters) to know which one it is or what account it's tied to. Has anyone else gotten this alert? Are they saying my Chase password was leaked? Or do they just expect me to change 60 different passwords on every account I have. I looked at haveibeenpwned and I had a password leak a long time ago so I don't know if it's referencing that or not. Genuinely confused, I feel like the app is glitched and missing more information because I can't understand why they would send me that alert but not tell me what account is compromised.

What’s the Point of Having Overdraft Protection and Debit Card Coverage Turned Off?

what’s the point of having over draft protection turned off and debit card coverage also turned off if Chase will still use their discretion to overdraw your account on an unauthorized cancelled service. aren’t those two features setup up to let them know not to pay out transactions that can overdraw one’s account? its not a good look for the account and they are breaking their own terms where it states that they will only pay out orders upto 50$ so why if both of those features are turned off did they still do that?

I called them to push back and they said go to a branch and then I reach out to a branch and they say the only way to clear it from account is to bring balance positive to that account or file a claim against vendor. what ever happened to clearing it and not fulfilling the request for the transaction. and they also posted it. now this may affect future credit inquiries by them using their discretion to overdraw my account without my consent. anyone else experience this and how was it solved?

Chase phone number change scam ?

I got two separate emails saying my phone number had been deleted from both my account and my zelle. The first one was kind of sketchy looking but the zelle one had the same customer service number as the one on the back of my debit card and looked exactly the same as every legit email I've gotten from chase. I didn't click on anything in the emails and logged into my chase account. My phone number is still there and it doesn't say any other device has accessed my account. I got changed phone carriers recently so at first I thought it had something to do with that but I'm pretty sure it's just a scam.

All that said it's probably okay right? Like it's just a scam and not an actual imminent threat? I locked my cards but I work in a somewhat remote area so I won't have reliable cell service to get in contact with Chase until later this evening (I just have wifi). I'm wondering if it's urgent enough that I should move everything out of my chase account in the meantime.

Closing account if there may be pending?

I have seen the advice that SOP for closing a bank account is to zero it out and then close. That is what I assumed I would do.

However, the exact reason I am closing the account is because I keep getting hit with automatic charges for subscriptions I previously cancelled. I used Chase Visa Debit card to sign up for those things, and Chase claims to have no way to actually block those payments. So I'd rather just close the account and switch to Sofi.

Got the Sofi account set up and my paycheck going there. My view is that I should be able to transfer all money out of Chase, and close it, but now I am worried from what I am reading that any recurring payment from that account, legit or not, could reopen it. What should I do?

Entire thing is pretty BS; it's my money, and I should be able to choose if the payment continues. If I don't pay the merchant, they should/can simply stop providing the service.

edit: I should also clarify that the original debit card I used to sign up got cancelled and I got issued a new one. I assumed this would stop the issue, but it did not. Visa is apparently facilitating payments from the merchants even though they lack the new card details.

Fell for a scam. Now dealing with the headache of fixing it.

Started with a text from what I thought was Chase fraud. A purchase for $900. I responded to the text and a supposed fraud agent contacted me later through Google Voice and the hosing began. From April 9th up until last week, it was just a run around with my Chase account and even non Chase accounts. Long story short, I got rolled. Changed all my cards and did all the usual steps with the actual fraud people for each respective bank.

Sort of a vent post. Sort of a cautionary tale of how the fraud rings are getting ever creative. If my paycheck isn't in by Monday, that's even more issues that still remain. Been with Chase since 2009 and now looking at a local credit union or something simple.

How tf do I talk to someone from customer service dept (from U.S)

Buckle up for my chasetravel.com nightmare. (Short version is can anyone give me a way to get ahold of customer service?) I’ve tried emailing multiple times with no response. Actually I get an “error” message that it wasn’t sent. The phone number I found on google (that I’ve called 4 or 5 times, for 40+ minutes each time and just found out last night that it’s in the UK and has been costing me $3/MINUTE, so not only has this been a huge inconvenience, but it’s costing me so much more money🥲)

I booked a non-refundable, pay when booking apartment stay through chasetravel.com at the beginning of May. I normally try to book refundable for this exact reason, but it was SUCH a good price for the area. Thousands of dollars less than every other place. I got an email on May 28th that the company that hosts the apartments closed down so my booking was cancelled. I started calling chasetravel.com around 3 weeks in when it still wasn’t refunded. They said to reach out to the host company bc they can’t do anything for 30 days. The host company closed down completely and the listed phone number wasn’t active. Or it had a full voicemail. Either way, no way to contact them. So then I called chasetravel.com after 30 days and talked to them about getting a refund and they said they would reach out to the company then get back to me. Of course they never got back to me so I called them a week later (was already annoyed at the 40 minutes I wasted each time, but now LIVID that I’ve paid $3/minute for the colossal waste of time, ugh) and they said that I needed to fill out a document they would send me including my card statement and my payment proof. I didn’t send them “the right thing the first time”, so I went through it all again, called them and got the form sent to me again. After submitting, it said I’d hear back in 48hrs. Well it’s been nearly a week, and I’m in the cycle where I’d normally call again, but I’m obviously not paying another cent to call them and them waste my time and money.

Can anyone who has struggled before me give me advice on how to call them for free from the US?🥺

Also, bonus question b/c i genuinely cannot understand how they are so incompetent.. why can’t they just search in their records that I’ve paid, it’s been cancelled by the property and not by me, and that I still haven’t been refunded? Like… that seems like info that shouldn’t be that hard for them to pull up booking info on their own gd website?!

Ugh I’m so frustrated, I will NEVER use them again. I’ve been waiting to get my refund to delete my account and be completely rid of them. ATP, I’m thinking of reporting it as credit card fraud. I’ve never done that before but does this qualify as credit card fraud?

Best way to fix up anything what i could find was only to call them and they have 10000 phone number which most of the time does not work 😞
