The lack of fun ranges is killing this hobby for me...
i live on the outskirts of Philly, and there are tons of perfectly "fine" ones, but absolutely none have anything other than you shooting paper. All the "outdoor" ranges within about 50mi (not that i would travel that far!) are members only, and have limited availability where there is only one time of year where they accept new members etc. Not to mention closer ranges ran by fudds and have strict range rules like only 5 rounds loaded at a time and no rapid fire. It has just totally killed my enjoyment. It was fun at first, but shooting paper so many times, its become very boring, especially as a solo shooter with no one to go with. I bought an AK last year in May, that i only just shot a few weeks ago. Ive just had no real desire to go.
Man im just so despondent with the whole thing. And watching guntubers on youtube live out my fantasy of backyard shooting anything they want without a care in the world doesnt help!
Im sure il be clowned on for this post, i just needed to vent some frustration. I feel like im being forced out of the hobby against my will. I love where i live, and i just cant afford to travel hours and hours away to and from even if i found a range in upstate pa where its more rural. I not only dont have the means, i cant justify the time. Maybe the world is trying to tell me something, and im just not ready for a big boy hobby yet lmao.
