AITA for asking a relative to lend me some money to help my brother, only for my husband to get mad at me afterward?

This story is actually about my mom, not me. My uncle has been struggling financially for a long time because of a life-threatening illness, and he urgently needs surgery this week but doesn’t have enough money for the operation. Wanting to help her brother, my mom asked one of our relatives if they could lend her some money. She wasn’t directly asking for my uncle, but for herself so she could help him out. However, my dad became upset and felt disrespected by her decision, especially since our family is also struggling financially, even if our situation isn’t as severe as my uncle’s. My mom originally planned to use her own money, but my dad had already given it to my half-sister for her high school graduation. The thing is, my half-sister didn’t even ask for it in advance, even though my dad had previously told her to let him know ahead of time whenever she needed something. The argument got even worse when my dad said that if he were ever in the same situation, my mom would probably just let him die. Hearing that was painful, especially because back when my dad had no work, my mom was the one working day and night just to support our family and help us get by. What should i do in this situation?

How should I approach talking to my dad? He’s very narcissistic, doesn’t really understand other people’s feelings, and always thinks he’s right. I just want him to understand that my mom just wanted to help her brother.
