2024 Highball and UDH
I bought my Highball in October 2024. I'm completely confused about the UDH. According to Santa Cruz tech website:
>SRAM produces a durable co-molded option (pictured on the right below), while Santa Cruz and Juliana models feature our own all-alloy UDH design.
What does this mean? Did SC produce a universal hanger or not? Can I buy any aftermarket UDH and install it?
I think my Highball is a v3.1 (but I'm not sure). According to their parts website (https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/collections/highball-3-1-small-parts/products/do-kit-udh-compatible) the replacement hanger (part 04-24715) is "SANTA CRUZ UDH COMPATIBLE HANGER." What does "compatible" mean? Either it's universal or it's not.
The hanger in the photo looks slightly different than all the images of the standard SRAM UDH, in particular the flat top of the SC hanger vs the rounded top of the SRAM hanger is see in pictures online. Or, they could be exactly the same but the photo on the SC website just doesn't show it right. Or maybe that distinction isn't important.
TL;dr: Will any aftermarket UDH fit in my Highball?
