My partner was laid off over 6 months ago. He was at his company for over 20 years and was stunned. We are both boomers.

His resume is not done, but all his projects for the past 10 years are completed. He has not filed for unemployment because he has no resume and thus cannot look for a job.

The layoff was a complete surprise, and he did not receive a good layoff package.

He pays his portion of the bills, but sometimes cries “poor.”

I am upset about this. I have offered help with resume, made other helpful suggestions. Nothing happens.

Do I have a right to be upset if he is paying his bills? In a way I think he is being financially irresponsible because he is living off his savings.

How much time does he need?
