Is The IB Diploma a Good Idea For Me?

So I know very very little about IB at all. My family has moved around a lot and I’m currently a sophomore but for my junior and senior years we will be moving to an IB school. I’m trying to get a little more information and figure out if it’s a good idea.

For context, I will earn an Associates of Science in General studies from a community college this year, but the most advanced core classes I’ve taken are APHUG, APUSH, dual enrollment (DE) precalculus with trigonometry (I hate math with a passion to be honest and really wanted to avoid calculus as much as I could), DE American literature, DE intermediate writing 2, 4 years of Spanish, and 2 DE environmental science classes.

I’m really hesitant mostly because of math and the foreign language requirement tbh. I really got sick of Spanish so I’m looking more toward doing Latin and I barely made it by with precal (my teacher sucked so bad) and I want to get into a top school so I don’t want to ruin anything. I am really create at writing (many publications and awards). This is all the courses my school offers:

Group 1: Language & Literature -- Language and Literature HL
Group 2: Language Acquisition -- Spanish B SL, French B SL, German B SL or Classic Languages SL/HL
Group 3: Individuals and Societies -- History of Europe HL; Business Management SL; Psychology SL
Group 4: Experimental Sciences -- Biology HL, Chemistry HL
Group 5: Mathematics -- Math Analysis HL, Math Analysis SL, Math Applications SL
Group 6: Arts and Electives -- Visual Arts SL/HL
The IB Core: Theory of Knowledge/Creativity, Activity and Service/Extended Essay

Does anyone have any advice, suggestions or even just information I should know about going into IB?

Side question: do either of the math classes prepare you well for SAT/ACT? Specifically AI?

(I can provide more information on my skillsets and stuff if needed I just have no idea really what’s needed)

APUSH Notes Help

So I need a bit of advice and help. I have a terrible teacher for APUSH and I’m studying but I’m starting to learn I have absolutely no clue what notes to take. I was wondering a couple things. First, if anyone has any advice on how to take notes and how to know whats important. Second, if anyone has notes they may be willing to share for both study and so I can understand how to take notes.

APUSH Textbooks

So our class just got our textbooks for APUSH and it’s Give Me Liberty! An American History by Eric Foner, Kathleen DuVal, and Lisa McGirr. I haven’t seen much talk about this textbook for APUSH so I was just wondering if anyone else had it and if it’s good or if I should also look into some other specific textbooks/resources it may not cover as well.

I will be getting my associates degree in general studies via LRCC before or fall of my junior year but i plan on continuing AP and DE classes.

After my sophomore year in Utah I will have completed 8-9 CTE pathway programs which I receive medals for.

I want to get a bachelors in either political science or anything business (that does not require much calc) depending on the college I go to but whichever I don’t major in will be my minor. I then plan to do a 3 year joint MBA/JD graduate degree program.

I don’t know if this is negative or not but during my freshman year I had some health issues and had to do the last semester online which unfortunately changed the titles of some classes. Like I was doing APHUG (the only AP/DE offered) but had to change it to geography honors though I still took the test (got a 2 on it🫤). I had to drop yearbook completely too but the rest of the classes were pretty much the same.

Is Self Studying Worth It?

I’ve seen a lot of posts lately talking about self studying APs and I was wondering if it’s truly worth it? I didn’t think it provided much benefit and value. If it does I was thinking about potentially self studying the two econs and comparative government. Would this be a good idea?

For context I’ve taken APHUG and APUSH and this is my Junior and Senior schedule:

Junior
SAT PREP
AP US Gov
AP Psych
AP Stats
APES
AP Lit
AP Bio

Senior
AP Seminar (Sem 1)
AP Research (Sem 2)
AP CSP
DE Philosophy Logic (PHIL 111)
DE Ethics and Society (PHIL 220)
Fire Fighting
Business Law Co-op

JLEC Certificate Replacement Help

So last year I won Very High Commendation for the comp but I recently moved states and the certificate for it has been destroyed. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way or someone to contact to potentially get a replacement because I don’t have it saved on my devices and the portal no longer has it.

JLEC Interview

So my portal now has this notification saying the interview is open but the button is still greyed out and not clickable. Does anyone else have this problem or has anyone done it?

UPDATE: I just checked my portal again and I submitted to all 30 essays and I noticed some of the topics have the button available while others don’t. They might’ve released some of them and not all to prevent overloading the page with too many submissions at once.

Is breadth bad?

I’m going into my sophomore year this fall but when it ends I will have 36 HS credits and 42 college credits. You only need 26 to graduate at my school with an advanced diploma, but I plan on sticking for all 4 years.

I’m soooooo bored at school and have gotten all As in literally everything (even dual enrollment and APs), I’ve done so many academic competitions, and I’m doing a court internship. I want to go to an Ivy or at least a really good uni for either political science or government then law school.

I’m worried that I’m doing too much because I’m bored but I’m also out of ways to expand on 1-3 specific things. I’ve taken all gov & law classes so my last two years of HS are just gonna be others. Is this much breadth negative?
