All of my Bull Terriers in one post.

Darby (brindle/white) was my first EBT, and my first dog of my own as an adult. I didn’t know what I was getting into, but immediately realized I would never return from being and EBT owner. Our life was perfect. Then we got Spider (white w black/brindle ear), a rescue from a local family that couldn’t keep him. Darby was not impressed. Spider was the most gentle, loving boy. I loved him. Eventually, Darby came to love him too. In 2017, Spider passed away. Darby was distraught. This boy she didn’t even like but came to love was gone. Though our hearts were broken, we decided to get another puppy. We found Dozer (fawn w black muzzle) lower center in the puppy picture. Again, Darby was not impressed. However, she started to care for him too. Then, tragically, he passed at 9 weeks old. His kidneys didn’t work, being the runt, and he had kidney stones that prevented him from urinating. We were all beside ourselves with grief. We ended up with Dozer’s littermate, Dexter (red/white). He’s not a replacement, Dozer will forever be our boy, and he found his forever home, even if it was only for a short time. But Dexter is everything to us. He wears some of Dozers ashes in his collar, so his brother goes everywhere he and we go. Amazingly, Darby took to him like a mother and a child, immediately watching over him and protecting him. It was wonderful.
For a very short time, we fostered a deaf 6 month old named Sparky. He got aggressive with Dexter, and my wife, and eventually found a home with a retired Marine on a farm in Oregon, thanks to the Northern California Bull Terrier Rescue, BTRI. Then Darby passed away in 2018. Never in my life have I been so heartbroken. I’m crying as I write this. She was my best friend. She’s waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
In the meantime, BTRI had a puppy that needed a foster home. We brought him home, and he never left his name is Duncan (black brindle/white). Dexter inadvertently trained him to be a warrior, so he’s got a little bit of little man syndrome, and laryngeal paralysis, but no big deal lol. Dexter loves him, and he loves Dexter, most of the time. Anyways, not to be dramatic, just wanted to share our story. I can’t imagine my life without a Bull Terrier in it. Love to you all.

Duncan the Extraordinary Rescue

We got Duncan from the Northern California Bull Terrier Rescue, BTRI. He was an only puppy, his sibling having died in the birth canal as his mother was picked up in the streets of Oakland whilst giving birth. RIP Duncan’s unknown sibling 😥. He has been a challenge, as he is child and dog aggressive, as well as having a strong prey drive. On top of that, he has laryngeal paralysis, a degenerative nerve disease that affects the long nerve endings that let him swallow or breath, as well as motor function/coordination. All that being said, he’s our baby boy, our warrior, our fearless little man. We wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world. Just sharing Duncan to the community.
