r/BullTerrier

CA based Rehoming female BT

We have made the incredibly difficult decision to find a new home for our six year old bull terrier. We got her less than a week before we found out I found out I pregnant and she did well until our son became “mobile” at which point she began to be anxious around him. With a lot of effort and training she became more comfortable with everyone, but unfortunately has grown anxious of him exclusively and snaps at him or growls at him nearby. My son is now terrified of her and she is similarly scared. I want everyone in my house to feel safe.

We have since been keeping them separated, but it is unfair to have her shut away so often because she is such a loving and smothering dog otherwise. She does well on a leash, in the car, and crate, and is fairly well behaved for a bull terrier. If it weren’t for our son and often having other similarly aged children over often this wouldn’t be considered. She does well with our older (11) bull terrier, and our senior cat who passed away as well as our 1 year old cat since he was a kitten. She’s a confident independent lady when she needs to be but is otherwise a total lover girl.

Our priority is to find her the right home and would prefer someone with experience owning this breed and it must be a home without young children.

Please PM if you are a fit or know someone who can offer her the life she deserves. Please please please be kind, we are devastated already.

Meet Pandora, Ursa’s new ‘little sister’

I went on a very long trip to go get her this past weekend and she’s settling in very nicely. Her breeder’s nickname for her was ‘Dora the Explorer’ and she lives up to that! She’s bold, inquisitive, and very smart. I’m really looking forward to watching her grow and seeing what she likes to do; she’s already showing an aptitude for parkour.

Currently, the only contact she has with the other dogs is out in the backyard or on our pack walks around the property. Indoors, there’s always a baby gate between wherever she is and the rest of them for now.

Today was a big day. First time in the stroller, seeing cars and trucks! The pups did great! It's all about acclimating them to the world.

Dumb looking clearance rack toy was a much bigger hit than I expected

It’s a bright blue fake deer antler, and it was five bucks at Tractor Supply. I had gone there looking for more of the giant fake Rams horns that somebody had told me were on clearance, but they didn’t have any of those so this was sort of a ‘well I’m here anyway, I might as well get something out of the clearance bin’ purchase and I wasn’t sure Ursa would even like it.

Apparently, he likes it. A lot. 😄
