WIBTAH for making my aunt pay for my dads funeral
My dad died a few days ago and he lives in another state so my aunt, his sister was taking care of all the areangements. My parents are divorced and I'm still in college so she is the only one who could do it. Also she lived near him. He didn't have a lot of money but he had enough saved up to pay for the last semester of my college which I would otherwise have to take out a loan to pay for. He left me as the sole benificiary of everything he had but now my aunt wants to have a huge elaborate funeral with all of his family that have not spoken to him in 15 years. I got the quote today and it was $20,000. She expects this money to come out of what he left for me. She already planned everything and invited people. The funeral is next friday and I dont know how to tell her I wont allow that money to come out of my account. He hated that whole part of our family he would not what this but If I dont let her take the money she will have to pay for it and she can't affored it. Do I tell her now a week before in time to cancel it so she doesn't have to pay? but if I do what do I say, sorry my dad hated all of you so you can't use the last of his money to show off? I am not a confrontational person and every time I talk to her she just explaines details never asks for my opinion. Do I just wait till after when we have to pay and tell her no? I dont think there is a way she can get the money out of his account without my permission. Please give advice

Called the funeral home today to tell them I wouldn’t be paying and apparently they were skeptical as well when they made all the plans with my aunt and then she asked them to send me the invoice. Long story short I have the right to decide what happens since I’m next of kin and I told them the big funeral would not be happening. They are sending a new invoice for just a cremation. My aunt has been calling me non stop since then but I haven’t picked up yet. Thank you for all the support in the comments.
