Let's make a playlist! What is the best song released by Ipecac Recordings (or by a Mike Patton project) that starts with the letter J?
We had another close one for the letter I and it was a fun thread to follow. Four different songs held on to first place at various points throughout the day, but by the end it was "Idiopathic" by Dead Cross that took the win by only one vote.
Today we vote for the best song that starts with the letter J.
Rules:
-The song must be from an official Ipecac Recordings release (Mike Patton's record label), or be a song which has Mike Patton as a performer
-Maximum of TWO SONGS ALLOWED ON THE LIST PER ARTIST so choose wisely --- (no longer eligible: Mr. Bungle)
-The comment with the most upvotes wins
-The first character of the song title MUST be today's letter. Examples: For this contest, songs starting with "The" start with T. Songs starting with "A" or "An" start with A. Songs starting with "(" or "." start with a special character, etc. This gives every song one chance to win, no more no less
-Since the whole point is to make a playlist, songs that are not available on Spotify will sadly be ineligible

The voting yesterday was over before it began. "Hollywood Squares" raced off to an early lead and never lost it, grabbing the easy win. Now it's on to the next. Vote for the best song that starts with the letter I.

The frugal and health-concious deliciousness of tortilla pizza
For those not in the know, tortilla pizzas are a wonderful option for those of us in tight financial situations or in need of watching health concerns.
I go to Trader Joe's and get a 12 pack of Mexican flour tortillas ($2.29), a jar of organic chunky marinara ($3.49) and 1lb of mozzarella ($4.49). That makes me 12 meals for about 89 cents each, and 250-300 calories each.
Standard home oven at 425° for 6-8 minutes results in some really good crisp. Sometimes I'll add toppings like bacon and fresh garlic if I'm feeling extra. The crispness can hold one or two toppings. Any more than that gets a little floppy.
It's a perfect quick lunch that I've been eating for years. In a pinch it beats the shit out of eating ramen and beans, and it takes barely any more time than making white bread sandwiches. I can be finished eating 15-20 minutes after I start cooking. Pizza power, my friends.
Let's make a playlist! What is the best song released by Ipecac Recordings (or by a Mike Patton project) that starts with the letter E?
It's a Bungle & trip-hop party thus far. Peeping Tom joins the list with "Don't Even Trip" and it's on to the next. Vote for the best song that starts with the letter E.

Let's make a playlist! What is the best song released by Ipecac Recordings (or by a Mike Patton project) that starts with the letter C?
Yesterday there were 5 different tracks that had first place at various points throughout the day, but after many hours "Book of the Month" jumped ahead of the pack and stayed there until the end. Lovage wins.
Vote for the best song that starts with the letter C.

Let's make a playlist! What is the best song released by Ipecac Recordings (or by a Mike Patton project) that starts with the letter B?
Appropriately, the first band on the list is Mike Patton's first band -- Mr. Bungle's "Ars Moriendi" takes the win. Now let's vote for the best song that starts with the letter B.

I've done this A-Z playlist series in several other subs but this will be the first that is focused on one person... and who deserves it more than Mike. These have been really well received and resulted in some awesome playlists. I hope this community enjoys it as well.
Here's a list of the best basslines from A to Z and back to A
Although it was put together by the r/bassguitar community, I thought I would share this here as well for anyone who would like to check it out.

This was curated through a month-long series of community suggestions and voting for each letter of the alphabet. The first half of the playlist contains all the winners from each day of voting. The second half of the playlist from Z back to A is all the 2nd place winners but with the rule of "no artist repeats" applied. So for letters where the 2nd place winner already appears on either list, I moved on to 3rd place 4th place etc until landing on an artist who hadn't yet appeared. This helped include some of the more popular players who didn't win, and in general it added a lot more variety to the list.
I learned a lot of new tunes as a result of running this series. I hope this playlist can serve as a good intro to bass for curious young minds and a nice collection of learning material for new and old players alike. The level of participation and appreciation from the community was awesome. Thump on, friends.

Two bassists stood above the rest as the only ones to appear twice on the list: Geddy Lee and Cliff Burton. There are some notable names absent (shoutout to Carol Kaye and Donald Duck Dunn) but given reddit's demographics, the biggest surprise for me is that Flea is nowhere to be found. Despite his iconic status among rock enthusiasts and a handful of third place finishes in our voting, his band RHCP didn't manage to crack even the runner up spot for any letter.
I learned a lot of new tunes as a result of running this series.
